Most improved offenses in CFB 2022 season

What did this mean as far as wins? Here's the top 10 team/2021 record/2022 record/win difference:

1. Washington / 4-8 / 10-2 / +6
2. USC / 4-8 / 11-1 / +7
3. Arizona / 1-11 / 5-7 / +4
4. Georgia Southern / 3-9 / 6-6 / +3
5. Kansas / 2-10 / 6-6 / +4
6. TCU / 5-7 / 12-0 / +7
7. Ohio U / 3-9 / 9-3 / +6
8. Penn State / 7-6 (lost bowl game) / 10-2 / +3
9. Duke / 3-9 / 8-4/ +5
10. South Carolina / 7-6 (won bowl game) / 8-4 / +2 (reg season)

I know more likely went into the turnarounds than just offensive updates, but improving your scoring can certainly boost your fortunes in CFB. I count 7 non-bowl teams in 2021 who are playing a bowl in 2022. Three teams on this list that didn't go to a 2021 bowl will likely be playing a NY6 game with one other improving from a mid-tier game to a likely NY6 invite.

The sad thing is IU's offense would probably show up on the list if you pushed it to top 20. The Hoosiers were +6 ppg on the offensive side vs 2021 and less than a point worse on the defensive side. IU would have to have a similar jump in offense in 2023 and hold firm or improve on defense to get to a bowl-worthy team.

Also worth noting - 9 of the 10 teams on the list have a HC in their first or second season with the program. James Franklin is the only outlier.
