To put in perspective Calipari went to Arkansas the day before the national championship game last year. They didn’t even hire Pope for another 10 days.

And we’re whining about 4 or 5 players in the portal. lol.

I am guessing we will not even spend the full 10 million unless we way overpay for guys. These top guys are all already gone or soon to be gone. The guys we may get will require alot less money.

Calipari had the number 1 class in the portal. And almost went to the final 4. We had the number 2 class. All your saying is woodson really sucked I agree with that. Portal rankings are useless even more than HS which at least gets the top 20/30 relatively correct while portal rankings have been pure trash.

You're correct though, there will probably be 1000 more transfers in the next few weeks. There seems to be three phases; early, after tourney, after pro camps. We've only seen phase one. But, the players seem to be signing earlier this year .. Huntington pointed out why above.

I'm not concerned that IU hasn't signed many yet per say. I'm concerned that IU has apparently been very interested in several and all of them have gone elsewhere(save Connor).

I'm starting to get used to the fact that IU is not the program it used to be, no one under 30 cares about IUs history, and IU doesn't spend as much as they should given the current climate and maybe never will.

No, IU has spent it on the wrong players, mainly post players. Who are way overpriced and over valued and then couple that with missing the type of players who would make a difference like Knecht, Conwell, etc.. You know, the type of players that the SEC, Big 12 and now L'ville do go and get so easily.

I would add that whoever did the rankings last year didn’t put much thought or effort into it. Many of those higher ranked players sucked and several lower ranked players thrived.
That’s the coach’s job - evaluate the talent and the fit.

Being faster this year has a lot to do with revenue sharing that is coming next week. Much different value on a player is coming.
