As a long time Purdue fan, it's hard for me to like IU players as I'm sure it is for you to like Purdue players, but some breakthrough and I can't help but like their game. Calbert Cheaney comes to mind. Juwan Morgan is another one of those guys. Good players, always good effort.

Your players would be more likable if it weren't for your fans, you guys are the worst and it makes people not like your team.

Well, at least those who even know where Purdue is.

Purdue has all the bragging rights currently and it is deserved. They are serious about sports.

Why does the IU Sucks chant bother you so much? It doesn't bother you one bit when you can point at the scoreboard, that's the real issue. I've been to Assembly Hall many times and the homerism and chants aren't much different.

LOL, how would you know anything about what bothers me?

Meh, didn't want to start another boring troll thread, just wanted to give some props to Morgan.

Love the "55 defelctions pic" btw. lol

This is the problem with these boards. Columbus-Boiler reaches out and pays a compliment to one of your players, which I happen to agree with on Morgan who is an excellent player who plays hard and has played through some tremendous difficulties with injury earlier in his career, and you come back with a nasty response. Why do you feel the need to do that?

Thanks for the comment Columbus Boiler.

To me, Edwards is a ready to go back up NBA point guard. I'd pick that guy up in a heartbeat if I needed depth at the point. Kid just plays. Only one gear, fast.

Cuz this place is a train wreck. If there are any moderators, they let the place run wild and it doesn't take long for posters to figure it out. I would guess most new posters here will get attacked or have some kind of smart assed comment thrown their way within the first 10 posts.
After awhile, I guess you just get used to it and start slinging the shit around like everyone else does.

Columbus-Boiler stated that it was hard for him to like IU players except for a few, and noted that it was probably the same for us, so I just explained to him what it was about his players that made them unlikable.

Look on the bright side, the mods actually let you post here, most of us were auto-banned as soon as you guys fell out of the tourney a few years ago.

Why do your mods feel the need to do that?

Well I am not a mod, I was just pointing out that nothing of what he said was inflammatory, it was just a compliment. And then you respond with something negative. How about taking a lesson from TR32 above and being gracious.

i like the moderators light-handed approach here more than other sites. there is a block button. how hard is it to use it? people you may want banned other people may enjoy. each person here can control the content to their liking. what more do you need?

If he really wanted to give a compliment to Morgan, he could have done that without the (I have a hard time liking IU players) comment first.
You don't start with negative, before giving a compliment on there board. That's asking for a negative comment back. JMHO

Isn't that how rivalries work? It'd be kind of weird for him to say "I love all IU players, but especially Morgan."

I agree with the Morgan sentiments though. The kid can play.

Please....Columbus Boiler wouldn’t even be here if Purdue lost to IU. Why don’t you all just go back to your board and let us be miserable? I don’t care who you like or what you think. It’s pathetic that you are even here posting.

You mean like starting a comment "with all due respect"?

Because it's classless. Especially when the entire crowd, from grandparents, parents, students, and little kids all chime in. When a student would get punished at school for saying this, then it is probably not appropriate for the entire PU fanbase to chant it at PU games, even when they are not playing against IU that day. That is obsessive and mentally disturbing in a stalker kind of way.

Oh trust me, I dont really give a shit. This place is comedy. I don't come here for serious IU talk. I'm not sure that's possible.

I guess we are just different you and I. I don't like when things get personal, especially at the collegiate level. Specifically making fun of kids etc, but I wouldn't care at all hearing a "Purdue sucks" chant. There's no victim here. Nobody goes home and thinks "I'm a loser because all those fans were chanting we suck" lol.

Now when people make fun of a player's family, physical traits, etc. I think that is a bridge too far.

You're seriously comparing a stadium full of fans chanting IU sucks to a handful of rabid fans on an insignificant internet forum?

And you wonder why people call PU little brother.:D

I don't even know what you are talking about lol. It's not the chant that bothers you, it's the scoreboard, but the chant is an easier place to vent. The chant would be your biggest joy if the scoreboard was different.

You complained that some people called some PU coeds fat and ugly... have you already forgotten?

Again, you assume you know what bothers me, you have no idea. I've said for years that the PU chant was idiotic, even as Cody and company was laying the beatdown on you guys in Mackey.

I guess it's actually funny, the chant makes you guys look petty and obsessive... seems pretty accurate now that I think about it.

It makes Purdue look stupid when they do it against other teams. I love it. Keep doing it. Boiler Up sounds stupid too. I laugh every time I hear it.

Purdue may have the lowest emotional IQ and self awareness of any D1 program.

I think it's awesome, and now that the "COURTSENSE sucks" chant is getting some traction it is even better.
