Flood was gone whether they won yesterday or not. Both he and the AD were going to be out anyway. The Flood firing is not surprising there at all. Surprised it didn't happen earlier in the season. Losing at home to Maryland yesterday was the icing on the cake.
Ironically, Rutgers experienced a big collapse similar to what we did in our game against Rutgers. Maryland was on life support and denied Rutgers a 5th win. Rutgers was actually high on the list of potential 5-7 teams they would have looked at for a bowl if they could find not enough 6-6 teams. Looks like they will take a hard look at Nebraska.

I was a bit surprised at that firing. She was a questionable hire at best, having been accused of mistreating players when she coached the women's volleyball team at Tennessee and making statements embarrassing to the university. But although things had been rocky at RU, it was mostly football, and Flood was not her hire. She lasted only 2.5 years. This appears to be a complete housecleaning.Rutgers fired their athletic director, too. She had a bumpy time there.
That's the sign of a guy who's really feeling the heat. He knows that if he doesn't put out a good product next year, he's gone.Hazell @ PU fired both OC and DC within 26 hours
after end of of Saturday's game + he fired their defensive line coach (Carter).
