Two former aides have started a PAC for him to run for governor. Has the GOP moved past him or will he be a reasonably easy victor (if he runs).
Nooooo. Typical Boiler, quitting before he finishes the job.Two former aides have started a PAC for him to run for governor. Has the GOP moved past him or will he be a reasonably easy victor (if he runs).
If the Pubs put up Rokita, the Dems should put up Pete.Maybe Mitch wants to prevent someone like Todd Rokita from becoming the governor?
Oh.Maybe Mitch wants to prevent someone like Todd Rokita from becoming the governor?
I would prefer Evan, but he may not want to do it.If the Pubs put up Rokita, the Dems should put up Pete.
He's as old as Mitch, isn't he?I would prefer Evan, but he may not want to do it.
Ha.He's as old as Mitch, isn't he?
I love it but Pete legally moved and registered in Michigan (which is where his husband is from). If the Pubs put up Rokita, the Dems should put up Pete.

He says it's for his kids to be close to their grandparents and that he has no ambition other than his current duties right now (meaning he won't step in front of Biden if Joe tries to run again, which hopefully he won't regardless of my political feelings on Pete).
It makes political sense. If the pubs take the presidency in 24 they'll probably give him the boot so he'll have good opportunities in a much more democratic friendly state to run for Senate or Governor of a crucially important swing state.
Although I would love if he could win the governor job in Indiana (and would be a great national story about reaching across the aisle with content, trust and policy over identity) it's also a much more difficult race to win than Michigan.

I don't think it would be a good move for Pete to run for governor in Indiana. He would get MAGA'd to death.I love it but Pete legally moved and registered in Michigan (which is where his husband is from).

Excuse me, but Evan was in a poly sci class with me at IU in 1974. So NO, he is not (yet) in his 70s...He's as old as Mitch, isn't he?
He's a year younger than me and I'm an old fvck.Excuse me, but Evan was in a poly sci class with me at IU in 1974. So NO, he is not (yet) in his 70s...
I would support Pete for gov!If the Pubs put up Rokita, the Dems should put up Pete.
Good interview.A Nice-Guy Conservative Emerges From Political Self-Exile
Mitch Daniels was the voice of Republicans until he quit politics for higher ed. He is speaking out again, but is his gentlemanly brand too out of favor?www.politico.com
Thanks for sharing that. Interesting he likes Sasse. Sasse is a politician I disagree with on almost any issue and would very, very likely vote against him. That said, I think he could work well as president.A Nice-Guy Conservative Emerges From Political Self-Exile

Quitting? How so? He's been president at Purdue for 10 years (average nationally is 6.5), and is leaving the university in the best shape it's ever been. He also clearly played a large role in the selection of his successor.Nooooo. Typical Boiler, quitting before he finishes the job.
That year was CRAY-ZEE though. 😇He's a year younger than me and I'm an old fvck.
