Miller to Texas

So it is possible to hire an established P5 coach. I said Texas was a better job than IU.

Would they hire someone who failed so miserably at Georgia?

With NIL, Crean might do pretty well; WVU should give him a look too.

Since being fired by IU, Tom Crean has consistently spoken highly of the program in interviews. I always assumed he was just taking the high road and didn’t truly mean it...until last week. In a home interview with Kay Adams, a scoreboard from an IU vs. Butler game was visible behind him. Most coaches wouldn’t keep reminders of places that had let them go, but Crean clearly does. I couldn’t stand him when he coached here, but as Mike Davis once said about Josh Smith after he declared for the NBA Draft, “He will always be part of the IU Basketball family.”

I wonder if McCasland was a candidate for the UT job.
that is a good question. As well as did BM turn IU down or did IU turn him down for DD? Going to get answers, at least on who made the better hire soon. '

I think Texas and Sean Miller had a handshake agreement over two years ago. They wanted to hire him after they fired Beard but Terry took Beard's team to the E8 as an interim and they removed the tag. The media was all over this well before it was announced.

Miller is a good coach but a slime bag. His voice is on the FBI phone taps about paying players yet he threw his assistant coaches under the bus to save his ass, then got on his knees in front of the Xavier AD to get a job. Fire away, my opinion of him will not change. Texas deserves him, they don't even sell out basketball games and he is already begging publicly for fans to show up next year.
