After going 19-12 and losing in 2 round of NCAA. But all these geniuses think Archie should stay.

Mike Davis himself said he wasn't ready to be a head coach at a school like Indiana.

He also got six years here, so what's your point?

Archie will miss the tournament 3 years in a row why was Davis treated differently. One guess.

A: when did they announce the tournament seedings already

B: your a idiot for bringing racism into the reason he was fired considering the next coach hired was Kelvin Sampson.

God your dumb.

How lame of you. Mike Davis was a perpetual whiner who was in over his head. He never should have been hired at IU.

Archie should also be fired if he can’t motivate his players this year and they have another year end nosedive.

Like it or not, Davis took IU to the final game in '02. Two years after RMK was gone ... so it wasn't "Knight's team" as many like to say. IU hasn't even sniffed a Final Four since.

I wish they’d hire another black coach. We need that kind of culture change anyways. Lavall Jordan is someone I’d love to have.

The most depressing thing is we will be stuck with freds mistake at least another year while he rides off into the sunset. Help is not on the way and there isnt one thing to be optimistic about. Sad state of affairs.

help will be on the way in ‘21-‘22

until then, this is our team. Hopefully it can start playing closer to its potential. Against PU we played mediocre at best for the first ten minutes, then slept walked through the last 30 like we couldn’t care less. The help that we need right now is a coach that can get this team to play as hard as they can, and with a laser focus for a full game.

We have gone from a team that is Jekyll and Hyde, to a team is gaining consistency as one that always plays like they don’t care. we are lackadaisical. Last year miller lost the team. I honestly wonder if he isn’t trying to lose them again.

That’s how bad the apathy has gotten compared to Crean and Archie, Davis was a major success and at least he admitted he might have been in over his head

Not only did he say that, he said all his head coaching jobs should have been in the reverse order.
That certainly tells us something...he keeps getting demoted! Where would he be today if he didn't have his talented son feeling obliged to play for "daddy"?

When davis coached the fans were still pretty into it Everyone i know doesnt really even care much anymore. Its bad.

Exactly and this board next year is going to b filled with vitriol with those again just hoping for an NCAA berth vs the TRUE fans that expect more

If he hadn't resigned, he would have been fired. Which one would you rather see on your resume of life?
Now we are left with a coach who should be fired but wont be. So we enter year four in a very toxic enviroment and recruiting will be dead. Having a lame duck coach is not good for anyone involved.

Recruiting is toast for 2021...what his sales pitch “I might b your coach if I somehow pull a successful 4th year out my ass while not changing anything” good luck with that

I believe the geologists liken it to being "between a rock and a hard place."

I hope Quinn Buckner asks every trustee that question.

His team made the tournament that year. Can you imagine firing a coach after winning 19 games and a game in the Big Dance?

Hell, we’d probably have a parade for that season now!
That team was also without dj white all year. I know apologists like injury excuses so there you go.

I don't really think there is any such thing as a "home run hire" anymore. With there being so much parity in college basketball over the last few years with mid majors catching up with the "big boys", all you can really hope for is your new coach maintaining the success he had at his previous job.
