Mika and Joe sit down with "an existential threat to democracy" in a pathetic attempt to save their jobs...

Again I'll ask, you guys know this is not an actual real tweet from Trump?

I know you guys have your eyes rolling back in your head breathing heavy with excitement thinking this is a real post from your hero. Sad
But it reads like a real one. Have some fun.

When these people take office they take an oath. I would love to see a separate oath to promise loyalty to trump. And if you don’t take it. Well. Then we know the score don’t we
Something like this:

“I swear by God this holy oath, that I will render to Donald Trump, Leader of the United States and People, Chief Executive of the Executive Branch and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, unconditional obedience, and that I am ready, as an office holder to risk my professional and personal reputation at any time for this oath”

You mean I can't trust Caturd?
It's "Catturd."

Come On What GIF by MOODMAN

Guess all that "he's the next Hitler" stuff was just BS... Either that or Mike and Joe are the first among a willing vanguard of the next Quislings...

They say it's an attempt "to restart communications"... Decoded that means: "we've clearly lost our audience and we're willing to do or say anything to attempt to stay on the air"...

I can only marvel at the hubris that both the Scarboroughs and some of their critics have in believing that they possess the authority to confer social normalcy on somebody.

The word “normalize” is being used a lot today — as in “the gall of Joe & Mika to normalize Trump!” And they anticipated this and said they weren’t normalizing him…just talking to him.

Can anybody here who subscribes to this notion explain to me how somebody (in media or otherwise) ascends to a place where they have the power to confer or withhold social normalcy to somebody else?

I have a bottle of wine from his winery outside Charlottesville. I've had it in my wine rack for six or seven years.
I can’t say I’ve ever bought any of Donald Trump’s tacky-ass products.

But I did stay at his hotel in DC in the old USPS headquarters. And, I have to admit, it was absolutely stunning. One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. But it was ridiculously pricey.

I think it’s a Waldorf-Astoria now.

There were several of us in Charlottesville for business and we went to the winery for a tasting. The one I bought was the one I thought was best. It wasn’t bad at all. Most everything he does is tacky though.

When I think of Joe, Mika and MSM management, I can't help but imagine, that at some staff meeting, one of them has said; "as god as my witness, I thought Turkeys could fly".

Wait. What? Their audience is libs. The risk was in meeting with Trump and being labeled sell-outs.

Their only hope is to move to the middle because their "base" ratings are in the toilet (of course you already knew that which is why I rarely waste time interacting with you).
Yes. Please stop interacting with me because you're alarmingly ignorant.

I didn’t know Ol’ Joe was a liberal. I could have sworn he is a former republican congressman who has tv show on a left leaning network. Oh, but MSNBC needs to be more “middle”. Remind me, who’s the former democratic congressman who has their own show on Fox? Not a contributor, an actual host with their own show.

Pre-Trump, Joe was a center-right Republican and Mika was the lib sidekick, with guests and contributors from all over the map. In 2015 when Trump got into the race he called into the show all the time, and they humored him and yucked it up with him. It was only when Trump gained traction and looked like he might actually get the nomination that Joe started taking him seriously, realized he might be dangerous, and joined the Never Trump crowd.

I know all that. I’m just wondering why liberals are giving him shit. He might have a 3 hour show on MSNBC, but he ain’t a liberal. I don’t care for Joe myself, but I know he’s not a liberal.

I suppose some would consider it fraternizing with the enemy. He may not be a liberal, but he was definitely an anti-Trump voice with a big megaphone.

Me, I think the trip they made was dumb and only played into Trump's hands, and the over the top reactions have been even dumber.

Vance called Trump "America's Hitler".

I know, I know...that's different.
I think Trump loves when guys like that do an about face and look like total hypocrites. I bet that's why he still does interviews with Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity too. I wonder if he ever reminds Ted Cruz that he accused his dad of being in on the Kennedy assassination, called his wife ugly and he STILL is in Trump's camp. Musk is in the same boat.

Is his megaphone really that big, though?

Yes, he has a morning cable show that's pretty much all about politics and is widely watched among the Beltway political establishment. But it's like most any other politically-oriented show: the bulk of his audience is the choir he preaches to, the rest of it are essentially doing oppo research. I doubt there are too many people who watch that show (or shows like it) who are being persuaded of anything.

I think the reactions are a function of how he's viewed from inside the establishment. It's a hangout for them to congregate and swap harangues with others of like mind.

I never made the claim MSNBC needs to be more more middle. That's the argument of the MAGAs here and why, they say, Scarborough and Mika visted Trump - - to bolster ratings. I don't watch the show and couldn't care less about their ratings. My point this morning was that they risk alienating their mostly liberal audience by meeting with Trump, and today's liberal backlash supports that idea.

Scarborough was a Republican congressman 25 years ago. He left the party several years ago. I don't know exactly how he currently identifies politically and ideologically, but I do know he wouldn't have lasted 17 years on a lib network, with a lib audience, as a conservative.
