Yep, bend over fans, drop your pants and grab your ankles. ITS COMING! Now you understand why the president of the NCAA is jumping ship (should been fired years ago).
A lot of schools have jumped in full bore, into a sinking ship and will be part of the disaster!
GREED KILLS!

imagine that... human nature at its best taking place in a situation where there are literally no rules... the same reason you can't defund the police. without rules and consequences "Lord of the Flies" happens every time

The NCAA laid down rules, dude. None of this is to occur with the inducement of enrollment at a given school in mind.

They’ll get around to the consequences. Emmert’s on the job until *next* July.

Wait a minute @Wildmanroom how are they getting away with this????

Man, since you posted, it couldn’t have went any worse for your stance. Lol

The NCAA was toothless to enforce the previous "rules" they had. How in the world do you think they're going to keep up with this current environment. It's the wild west, man. They'll basically wash their hands of this just like they did the transgender argument... I don't care which side you're on, the NCAA has basically become powerless...

Where does this kid get off? He was like the third or fourth best player on what was, until the run out of nowhere through the tournament, a pretty mediocre team. They're starting to really rake in recruits (and other portal transfers), which will frankly shove him even further down the pecking order. But, hey, Isaiah, you do you...

My Son In Law just texted me the link to the ESPN Facebook article on this story.

I ask..... How is this not akin to Blackmail?????

From the article, a quote from his agent:

“It’s a unique situation just completing Nijel Pack’s deal with Miami,” Papas, who also handles UM forward Jordan Miller’s NIL deals, told ESPN. “Understanding what John Ruiz is trying to do with the NIL space and the city of Miami, we feel the value of Isaiah Wong should meet or exceed the value of an incoming transfer. “Isaiah would like to stay at Miami. He had a great season leading his team to the Elite Eight. He has seen what incoming Miami Hurricane basketball players are getting in NIL and would like his NIL to reflect that he was a team leader of an Elite Eight team.”

Now NCAA head coaches have to deal with 100 different Scott Boras wannabes . What a nightmare!

Why shouldn't he do this? A decent player on a bad team is getting 800,000. Why shouldn't he be compensated similarly, as he was there and had success? Why should Pack get that money and he shouldn't?

I figured the laissez faire capitalist in you would support this young man's right to maximize his value.

Why are you such a commie?

Sounds like he is not happy with his agent...

these “agent” guys are complete morons. You can’t represent them in the nba yet legally, so only thing they got is they get to represent them in college. Meaning they aren’t real agents, because no real agent is doing this for a few dimes. TJDs and Tamar’s “agent” is a young east coast kid that I stopped replying to. Complete idiot.

My “stance” was merely pointing out what the NCAA said their guidelines were for NIL. Just because players/boosters are thumbing their noses at the guidelines doesn’t mean they aren’t in effect.

It's really no different than a person going to his superior at any given company and asking for a raise or he will take a job elsewhere. Is that blackmail?

Point On Wi_H!!!! I didn't look at it that way. Thanks for clarifying it for me..

The word I received was that TJD was asking $850k to return next year. Have you heard anything?
