McRoberts/Fitzner

Combine for 32 minutes.

0 points, 2 rebounds and 2 turnovers.

Time to give their minutes to someone else
Fitz has been a total bust.

McBob looked like his back was still hurting him.

I don't understand what is holding Forrester out in these circumstances. He must really practice awful.

To who? with 5 players not able to play right now we have no choice. He gave Moore the first crack at it yesterday but did nothing so who else.. Anderson can't play defense and his shot selection is not what it should be.

The depth on this team is killing us.

I heard people say before the season this is the deepest team we’ve had in years. That couldn’t be further from the truth. We have 4-5 guys on the bench that have no business playing at this level.

You're listening to Dakich today too, huh?

Same comment within minutes of DD talking about it on air. LOL

Actually not listening to Dakich. Been wondering for several years why McRoberts gets playing time. Just thought I would look at the box score this morning. Not much three.

Michigan has better players than IU. IU needs better players 1-8 at least to compete on national level. Getting closer but still not there.

No, we have guys who have no business starting and/or playing significant minutes at this level...yet. That won’t change for Fitz or McBob, but we’re relying on guys who aren’t ready to play that much yet. All we really needed some of these guys to be able to do was play 2-3 minutes here and there to let our starters rest.

Boy would Phinisse as a senior ..Look good with TJD& Brooks as Jr's ..
Then land Furst...As a freshmen.
That's what Villanova got lucky with.
Some guy's decided to stay a extra year ..
22 year olds everyday over 18 year olds .imo.

Yes, and also lineup decisions by anonymous message board posters over lineup decisions by coaching staffs, according to some.

McRob is a good kid; I know every team needs a hustle/ floor burn guy. But 22 minutes and not even one attempted shot. Playing 4 on 5 running our offense. Unfortunately we now have the shortest bench in the B1G. We just can't compete in a game where Morgan gets into foul trouble early and has to go to the bench.

Would have been great to see OG develop and be a senior with Juwan this year.

I don't know why everyone gets so caught up on McRoberts not taking a shot. The guys is a walk-on coming back from a back injury. If he had a scoring role on this team it would be as a spot up shooter and I'm guessing his back issues are making him feel like he can't shoot comfortably. I'd love it if he didn't play a minute for us, because that would mean we had better options, but right now we don't and he generally doesn't hurt us with TO's, is a good defender and hustle guy. With DG as our starting PG, he is a stabilizing presence on O and knows what the hell is going on on D. I know I don't start screaming "No, no, no" at the TV if he starts to drive as I do with Smith and I don't see him falling asleep on back cuts and in help situations, so that alone tells me something and makes me question our scholarship players out there much more than ZM.

I’m not being critical of them as kids. Just don’t see the big time level basketball talent.

oh feepaw, mcroberts is already a key reserve on a top 25 team. ya, we all want to be top 10 but almost no one but you was dumb enough to think it'd be this year.

No, what we have is injuries forcing us to play some guys who were not expected to have to contribute at their current level at this time. People are writing off Freshmen and Sophomores. It is silly. If I had no idea what our record was and I came and read these boards I would think that we would be mor like 9-6 as opposed to 12-3.

We had 5 scholarship players in street clothes yesterday. That means we had 8 scholarship players available and 1 walk on who gets scholarship player minutes. Having 2, 3, 4, 5 guys out every game would impact any team particularly when it is starters. It forces guys into minutes and positions that they are not ready for. Every guy we have on the team has his place, for some that place is as a developing player that we expect to get minutes in future years.

I get that there are going to be things to complain about but when you are NEVER happy with your team, even when winning, what is the point? I don't like losing either but this is turning around. Recruiting is up and despite the mood from some around here, we are currently doing alright despite some adversity.

Hmmm, 2 freshmen, a RS freshman (who hasn't been healthy enough to even make a judgement on), a soph and a walkon. See a trend? And none of these guys were the marquee recruit in their class... aka complimentary players. If they will be big time level bball talent, it likely won't be until they are Jrs, or at least sophs. Give it a rest.

Don't tell fepew to give it a rest. After all, the man has fished with a certain coach before. He knows what he's talking about.

Anderson needs to play more or at the very least get an opportunity each game. McRoberts has played poorly for a month and half now and with Rob out they need another body.

I will remind you that at the start of the season I started a thread "deep vs. Good" to discuss whether we had the talent/size/experience to cover the team's needs. Just sayin'.

The thing about Anderson is that he is really solid physically. He has freshman limitations defensively but he seems as healthy and very capable of physically competing. If he can improve a bit I bet he would be really durable on the court.

Forrester is hurt and was in street close the last 3 games.

Forrester
Phinisee
Davis
Hunter
Thompson
And McRoberts with back issues.

It is sort of unbelievable that they continue to have this many problems with injuries.

That's just silly. We have bench guys who are starters due to injuries. Our bench players SHOULD include: Green, Davis, McRoberts, and Hunter. Newsflash - three out of four of them are hurt, and the fourth is starting because of an injured starter. If not for major injuries, that's a damn fine bench. Instead, none of them are on the bench currently, except for an injured McRoberts.

Is there another poster here who bitches and moans more than you?

We haven't seen enough of Race or Moore to make any judgements, Andrson will develop to a mid-level BIG player, Forrester is the equivalent of most BIG bench players, McBob seems to have digressed. The one that doesn't belong...you missed.

We haven’t seen enough of Moore? Come on. Maybe there’s a reason for that.

To answer your question ---- no, No and HELL NO

I am going to go out on a limb and say Hunter would be a key player for us if he hadn't missed this year. He had won the gold practice jersey and was considered our second best recruit.

The future is bright. If TJD and Brooks stay for two years. Two years of Hunter, Phinisee, TJD and Brooks playing together will be fun.

green was also wearing the practice jersey last week

Ive always been high on McRob but im beginning to think thats an excuse. It was just a few games Roberts literally dove, (yes literally dove) for the ball...
Ppl dont do that with "bad backs".
& with that said, im going to continue saying I didnt realize how unathletic Roberts is. He really got shaked, baked, & shown up against Michy.

He gave Moore the first crack at it yesterday but did nothing so who else..

I seen Moore actually had a block!!!..... .. . .. But then I also seen where Greene was at the line for a one & one to cut the lead down to 8 (most pivotal point in game) , miss it , and then a fast break to otherside where Mich missed a shot and Moore failed to grab a rebound right on top of him.
Very sad

Forrester is hurt and was in street close the last 3 games

How unfortunate bc hes the one player
I personally would wanted in there outa the Anderson, Moore trio

I always wonder why ppl seem to forget Hunter when mentioning a future dream team. Am I missing something???

don't know why everyone gets so caught up on McRoberts not taking a shot.
Bc he can shoot the ball well.
But It seems he no longer looks to pass first shoot and shoot if need be, to must-pass-period.

Andersons "d" looked great when he got actually-important, game-time minutes against illinois(?) think it was playin the pack line.

The thing about Anderson is that he is really solid physically.
He strikes me as ssoooo uncoordinated tho, like a fish outa water, think Zeller days back at Iu where he might trip over himself, or let alone, if you gave him the smallest bump hed fall over himself

Davis should be starting for us. We need his size in there to contest the other team's 5. It's not fair to Juwan to have him continually guarding guys 3"+ taller and 20lbs+ heavier. It wears him out and causes his early foul troubles oftentimes.

We don't know how much the back is bothering McBob. He can defend and handle the ball without turning it over when healthy. He is the guy that players have faith in that he will move the ball to the right place without turning it over.

Fitzner hit some early 3's and looked like he was going to be a threat from outside. He has gone cold. Additionally, I question his hands. He seems to miss passes in traffic or if he has to move to catch the ball. I had expected more from him. It seems that Archie is leaning more towards Moore than Fitzner with Davis being out. That is good progress for Moore, but isn't a good sign that Archie will use Fitzner as much down the stretch.
