Iowa just hit a grand slam. I hope this doesent come back to bite IU in the a$$. I like the DeVries hire and believe he can be very good but i'm jealous of them landing McCollum.
I think he's going to do well at Iowa. He'll have time to make mistakes and learn from them that he wouldn't have here. They will be relevant again.Iowa just hit a grand slam. Yep. He will either stay at Iowa or be the next big thing at Wisconsin. I hate like hell he is going to Iowa. This sucks for IU and the rest of the league down the road.maybe they’ll start playing defense again in Iowa City. Wonder if Freeman stays now.
I think the next 5 are now penciled in.How many national championships will Iowa win??
With that nil budget probably none. With our nil budget? Probably the same. 😛How many national championships will Iowa win??
I'll miss (purple-faced) Fran! One guy ain’t happy about everything that just went down………![]()
he will the next wisconsin but doing it at iowaYep. He will either stay at Iowa or be the next big thing at Wisconsin. I hate like hell he is going to Iowa. This sucks for IU and the rest of the league down the road.
I don’t see it. His system is way different. When he gets better talent they will score.he will the next wisconsin but doing it at iowa
Just as big a possibility it bites Hawkeyes in the ass.Iowa just hit a grand slam. I hope this doesent come back to bite IU in the a$$. I like the DeVries hire and believe he can be very good but i'm jealous of them landing McCollum.
According to this board, the next 5 will be split between Michigan and Iowa, no doubt.I think the next 5 are now penciled in.
Dusty vs Darian vs Ben. It will be very interesting to see who is most successful in five years.
McCollum did well at Drake but he did not build that program.
Iowa fans are jealous of IU’s DeVries. McCollum was their plan B. The head to head match ups will be heavily anticipated, as they will be when we play Michigan, now both are secondary rivals as teams we really want to beat.Iowa just hit a grand slam. I hope this doesent come back to bite IU in the a$$. I like the DeVries hire and believe he can be very good but i'm jealous of them landing McCollum.
You do in a real conference. You’ll only get so far.Great hire for Iowa. He’s shown his style doesn’t need the big NIL type recruits.
I’m guessing Iowa might be a better fit for BM. I don’t see him as the coach of a program as big as ours. And DD seemed to seek out a bigger job than WVU and when IU came calling he didn’t hesitate. I think DeVries always saw himself leading a top program, not sure McCollum ever did.Maybe DD will be better, would have rather hired Ben tho.
Fair enough, but I don’t get the impression that either were meant for a big coaching job and the spotlight. Just based on very limited viewing, I think Ben is the better coach.I’m guessing Iowa might be a better fit for BM. I don’t see him as the coach of a program as big as ours. Well Crap!
He’s not playing Evansville or Northeastern Missouri St anymore.Great hire for Iowa. He’s shown his style doesn’t need the big NIL type recruits.
What time does Drake McCollum play next weekend?Geez, some of you act as though he is the second coming! I'm sure he will do well at Iowa but he's not gonna dominate the league. Get a grip.
If he’s who you all think he is he’ll only be in Iowa a couple of years.
Same time as us. However, we don't have the excuse of having a roster of D-2 players. What time does Drake McCollum play next weekend?
maybe......i see it like he will have them play solid fundamental ballI don’t see it. His system is way different. When he gets better talent they will score.
Doesn’t matter Ben McCollum> John Wooden. What time does Drake McCollum play next weekend?
We’ll shall see how DeVries handles it in the next year or two. I just get the feeling he’s going to acclimate well to the IU job. He’s a good coach and that support he’ll get from a top program will work well as long as he embraces it and doesn’t let the expectations get to him.Fair enough, but I don’t get the impression that either were meant for a big coaching job and the spotlight. Just based on very limited viewing, I think Ben is the better coach.
Basketball IQ and discipline are always in style: haven't seen that in Bloomington for awhile.maybe......i see it like he will have them play solid fundamental ball
and not beat themselves
For people who say Dusty May wouldn't have come to IU last year, I'll enter BM as Exhibit A.
They both paid players though.Doesn’t matter Ben McCollum> John Wooden.
Yes, but this might be why he probably wasn’t a good fit at IU. As Mike DeCourcey likes to point out, the last team to win the ncaa championship without a first round NBA draft choice on their squad was IU in 1987. You need nba talent on your team to win it all.Great hire for Iowa. He’s shown his style doesn’t need the big NIL type recruits.
