to put the names on the back of jerseys. For the first time in my 76 years I will have no idea who I am watching next season. Fire away.

Do you have a smart phone?to put the names on the back of jerseys. For the first time in my 76 years I will have no idea who I am watching next season. Fire away.

But I'd be all for putting names on the backs of the jerseys. And keeping a version of last year's script Indiana alternate jersey. Candy Stripes and red warmup jackets with the script Indiana on the back, is something I think work keeping though.
Twitter handles would actually be better, and more appropriate.I like the idea of only putting people's first names on the back of jerseys, like the 80s.
With glitter.

I fully expect someone to do that here soon.
For sure...that's why I liked the alternate black ones with red script Indiana on the front. Maybe just use the names on the alternate ones? Play 3-4 games a year with the alternate jerseys. Helps apparel sales, gives a nod to progress, but sticks with traditions too.I'm fine without names, I can't read them fast enough anyway, so learn the numbers pretty quickly. But names on jersey's won't bother me, I think it's a cool tradition but not that big.
Keep the cool candy stripe warmups and jackets as mentioned above, and I'm happy.
No ugly wierd-ass camo or other off color jerseys please! Alternates are fine but for chrissakes make them look good and look like Indiana.

Maybe we can wear Old Gold this year tooFor sure...that's why I liked the alternate black ones with red script Indiana on the front. Maybe just use the names on the alternate ones? I have been saying that for twenty years but if you even mentioned it before people lost it. I mean these are now paid professional athletes so this no names tradition is kind of laughable at this point that college bbal era does not exist anymore.to put the names on the back of jerseys. How about a QR code and we can send them $ when they do good things?Twitter handles would actually be better, and more appropriate.

Obviously no one has listened to you… for 20 years.I have been saying that for twenty years but if you even mentioned it before people lost it. I mean these are now paid professional athletes so this no names tradition is kind of laughable at this point that college bbal era does not exist anymore.
That is a fact. I remember when Mike Davis let them wear head bands and it only lasted a game because people lost their minds. Now "chill" Galloway wore them all the time so maybe just maybe the old guard is loosening up a bit?Obviously no one has listened to you… for 20 years.
The tradition ended in 1993 and we have not been good in 32 years except a few under crean and one under davis.I think they should be names on the back of the jerseys as well. People always talk about tradition, but IU has sucked for 30 years. They aren't special or a blue blood. They might as well start a new tradition. They can keep some of the old ones like the candy striped pants.
I always liked Marquette's uniforms of the 70s.Long jerseys, untucked, names below the numbers on the back a la UNLV 80s/90s.
me too. Think one of the players designed those for Marquette.I always liked Marquette's uniforms of the 70s.
Bo Ellisme too. Think one of the players designed those for Marquette.
I second most of this... other than naming the Arena after Coach Knight.I'm a traditionalist but I understand there's a divide. One side excellence the other side hope. Separated by 25 years of volcanic inadequacy.
So in my fictional negotiation I propose:
Home and away versions of the alternative black uniform from last year with names on the back. However, we name the arena after Coach Knight and the candy stripes are untouchable.
We can start crafting the strict criteria for jersey retirement and move to have our next shoe company contract renewal up for serious debate.
I would like to see Coach DD have a studio show once a week similar to the Bob Knight Show, where he explains his methods and where the team is doing well and where they need to improve. Break down a little film. Obscenities are optional. Local affiliates would add a touch of nostalgia.
Jersey retirement:
National championship player that was minimum all-conference.

I think Assembly Hall is great. I don't love Simon Skodt Assembly Hall, but I'm glad they kept the Assembly Hall part.
I think the court should be named "Knight/McCracken Court". I don't know why I thought it already was???
If there's ever a chance to rename the practice facility, I would look to add Coach Knight's name to that facility. The building where the guys actually spend most of their time, and do most of the practice and preparation, seems like another great place to link with Coach Knight.
Candy striped shoes, jersey and shorts. What is wrong with you people.
We have the cleanest, best jerseys on the planet.
Why eff that up. I don’t get it.
