This again, coming from a coach??? Got something for ya Porkchop…
Though he makes some good points, I haven't seen Painter this fired up in a while.

At least he's not Fred Hoiberg's bitch.Painter wanted the mediocrity train to continue indefinitely
Says the guy who just lost his 4th conference game in a row 🙄

Furst is a head scratcher for sure. I really wanted him in Btown as a four. He's obviously a stand up kid too, having kept his commitment even after he was apparently duped by Painter.
I'm surprised every time I see Furst, with how little he's developed at Purdue.
Woody must of slipped him a hundred after the gameThis again, coming from a coach??? Got something for ya Porkchop…

I’m sure he’ll be fine.Furst is a head scratcher for sure. I really wanted him in Btown as a four.
He ends up being duped as you say about his position, doesn't develop under Painter and is pre-med at the wrong school.
Kind of unfortunate for him.
…said the cute little Purdue cheerleader with a wink.
The funny thing is, it's not like they've had an outstanding wing during his time there really. Ivey was what now, 3-4 years ago? He's effective in the post, so I don't fault Painter for playing him there, but it's not like he's been pushed to the post because they've had world beaters on the wing. Their crying for Heide or Colvin to step into that role. He's obviously a stand up kid too, having kept his commitment even after he was apparently duped by Painter.

Reportedly, a huge part of Painters final pitch to TKR was that he wouldn't play him how IU was playing TJD...which was 100% in the post at the time.do you know him? archie half ass recruited him, painter made him feel wanted
Archie just never connected with TKR, I think IU had a real shot but it never clicked. I think this happened a lot with Archie, reason number whatever he didn't last.Reportedly, a huge part of Painters final pitch to TKR was that he wouldn't play him how IU was playing TJD...which was 100% in the post at the time.
It seems like TKR has adjusted just fine, and accepted his role at Purdue...but if the TJD pitch is true, Painter evidently isn't above bold face lying to recruits.
I happen to know that was part of the issue in the end with Catchings. They wanted some assurances what they had talked about during his recruitment on how he would play and be used, was still going to happen. Neither side liked where the conversations went from there.
I think Zach Edey has given Painter a bigger head than he already had.
Having said that...he isn't wrong. It just doesn't specifically apply to the Woodson situation, in my opinion. He's quite obviously not a good basketball coach. IU's fan base, the "real ones" in Painters eyes, that do show up game in and game out, that despite 30 years of relative mediocrity, make IU still, somehow, a blue blood in most peoples eyes...those fans deserve a good basketball coach on the sidelines. So when they, and the rest of us, see that we don't have a good basketball coach... sitting around and just being cool with it...shouldn't be expected. We're not Purdue fans after all.
Unfortunately for IU, I think Heide, Colvin, Cox and the red-shirting Benter will be pretty good as they progress. PU currently has 4 older players who red-shirted, a nice luxury to have. They only lose Furst next season so I expect a thorn in our side in time yet ticked. The funny thing is, it's not like they've had an outstanding wing during his time there really. If forced to venture a guess, I would say #2. Don’t overthink it.What am I exhibiting?

In the BTT? Are you sure you're a Hoosier fan? There’s always an air of excitement in anticipation of games yet to come.
True ‘dat, having not had a lot of sustained success. This is why it’s important to attend early in the tournament, Wednesday-Thursday. Once IU is out, it becomes a ghost town, relatively speaking, as this perceived air of excitement, this gas that was such a blast, escapes the bag.In the BTT? Are you sure you're a Hoosier fan?
I certainly wouldn't imply we have played better, but when comparing what PU has done against IU, its not been a whoopin. I am not about to tally up the score totals over the last 3 years, however, something tells me IU is up though.Maybe he means in overall accomplishments. Obviously no one is happy to be 500 against Purdue with our overall results.
For sure. I assume Painter always knew he wouldn't be a three. But TKR obviously thought that was his path to the NBA, and Painter took advantage of it.The funny thing is, it's not like they've had an outstanding wing during his time there really. In southern Indiana the only Purdue fans are Purdue graduates, there was pressure on both sides for him to go to IU. for every time Archie contacted him Painter contacted him 10x, Archie thought he was undersized to play inside and not athletic enough to play the wing. He is a great kid and has gotten everything out of his abilities. coming out of high school if you told me he would be an all big 10 player I would have called you crazy. He made the right choice.I know what he said about it. In print.
