If you are an IU fan and can not appreciate him you are clueless. Someone on here mentioned him never being Keady. I love Gene Keady, but Painter is way more polished in terms of schematics and he handles personnel well too. I loved Keady and him being demanding, but Painter is in this day and age as well. He just isn't as demonstrative. Could you imagine if Painter was not in that loaded class and He ended up at IU, and the torch was passed? (I am well aware of Knight not going for that. And the Pat dynamic) Painter would of killed it here the last 20 plus years. For the love of god I hope they figure it out. It is hard to fathom how long this disaster has lasted.
He’s terrified that IU will get it right this time and has gravy boat will dry up. He’s landed so many good recruits purely due to our own poor coaches. Hopefully that soon changes.

I love Matt Painter. He’s what good in the sport. I hate Purdue but Matt Painter is real.

Archie told him he'd be a 4 or 5 at IU, and that they would use him like they were using Race and Trayce. He fancied himself as a 3. Painter said he could play the 3 at Purdue, so he signed up.
5 years later...he's a 4 or a 5 at Purdue.
I still remember the videos of him beating Joey Brunk in one-on-one during his visit.
