I am not making any prognosis of his injury. My seats are near the IU bench. Every time he got up to walk to the huddles in timeouts and to the locker room at halftime he was limping noticeably. His expressions seemed that he was in pain. Maybe he wakes up today with no limp and no pain. I can’t imagine he plays against Iowa and seems unlikely against IL. If there’s no structural damage maybe they give him pain meds and he starts playing immediately. We will see.Welp, as we've learned in this thread, there are two types of knee injuries. There is torn ACL which may or may not keep you off the floor depending on how soft you are. Then we have everything else. In that case, without question you're just too soft if you elect not to play. That becomes compounded by the bad culture within the program. Finally, the head coach needs to specify to us exactly what the injury is so we can make the call as to whether it's a serious ACL tear, or whether it's just lack of "toughness".
This kind of info is why I stopped with the premium board. Why pay when you can get expert analysis like this on the freebie?
Yeah, sorry. This was really directed at the resident expert on orthopedics who, if he had much sense would realize that he's continually digging a deeper hole.I am not making any prognosis of his injury. No problem. I’ve been surprised with his injury. The game it happened it didn’t look that bad watching him walk away. Last night Cupps and Newton were walking around like nothing was wrong with them. MR was hobbling around horribly. I didn’t notice any kind of knee brace nor our famous walking boot. Maybe he had a light brace under his sweatpants.Yeah, sorry. I hope you really aren’t that delusional.Nah, it’s called toughness.
He had a pretty hefty brace under his sweatpants. I was able to see it under his pant leg as he exited the floor, limping, as you said.No problem. I’ve been surprised with his injury. How’s the weather in South Bend?Crean won two big ten titles and went sweet sixteens something the last two coaches couldn't do. If May can win big titles and get us to sweet sixteens sign me up.
Cheesedicks, aka donkeydicks, get no respect. Cheesedicks need love, too."We don't know what the injury is", yet here you are with your usual inane cheesedick comments.
I'm not sure what Newton has done. I know Cupps had a torn meniscus repaired. My own experience with that was using crutches for about ten days and things just gradually improving from there. As long as I moved frequently enough, I was able to walk without much discomfort after a few weeks. No problem. I’ve been surprised with his injury. Which question on culture? That it matters? 100% it matters.Answer the question, since you're such an authority on culture.
Or, answer this one: you ever play basketball on a torn ACL?
Why is it that guys can fight through injury and play a sport like football but a basketball player tweaks his knee and is out? Larry Bird fought through injuries and played hurt for years.I hope you really aren’t that delusional.
You show yourself as a bigger and bigger moron every time you post. Shouldn't you be on a ND football forum this morning, getting ready for the game tonight? Why is it that guys can fight through injury and play a sport like football but a basketball player tweaks his knee and is out? That's what your post reads like.
How could we possibly look better, what with all the complete lack of culture you blather on about?
My super secret conspiracy decoder rings says ...Back to MR. Are there any posters that have an educated idea what is going on with MR? No crutches, no visible braces or knee supports, significant limp, grimacing in pain while walking and Woodson saying he could be out a long time.

Typical repetitive negative post that ignores the question and point. If you think IU bball has a strong culture, then you are dumber than I thought.
And typical non answer from you. Iu has a culture problem in basketball. Laziness, discipline issues, lack of leadership.Typical repetitive negative post that ignores the question and point.
Troll someone else.
Define each and show examples of how IU is lacking. Or are you just a parrot repeating words and phrases you really don't understand.Laziness, discipline issues, lack of leadership.

You think Ballo is at the bar the night before a game if RMK is coach?
Considering how Ballo responded ... with urgency in play, after being disciplined by leadership. We can all see how full of shit BSmitty is.
He's f'ing exhausting. Needs to add some new material to his schtick.Considering how Ballo responded ... with urgency in play, after being disciplined by leadership. We can all see how full of shit BSmitty is.
To him, like many, those words only mean winning or losing ..
