he done. For Woodson to come out and say that, things must be bad. Either that or he is playing mind games.
Yep, I'm sure we're a better team without our leading scorer. Amazing to me how quickly folks write people off after a game or 2. Folks were saying earlier how bad Goode was and we didn't want him shooting or need to reduce his minutes. Newsflash: we don't win yesterday without Goode.IU plays better without him.
I think it's all relative. Any kind of structural damage would lead to a lengthy absence if not a prolonged absence for the rest of the season. Two weeks is short compared to 6-8 weeks.Could have sworn they announced yesterday before the game that there was no structural damage and he would be back shortly.
Alec still covers IU? How does that dude make money????
yep...on the surface it forces us to play more 1 post sets...but now forces Ballo to play 30+ min and stay out of foul trouble, which was never the plan. Don't think this is good news in the end.Yep, I'm sure we're a better team without our leading scorer. Amazing to me how quickly folks write people off after a game or 2. Agree, we play better when we play 1 post, especially now that we are making shots, but having Reneau to alternate with Ballo is better than having to count on Hatton. They ate up our lead when Ballo went to the bench. Maybe that doesn't happen if we're then just able to rotate Reneau back in. Also, it at least gives us the flexibility to go with 2 bigs if a matchup dictates that. We need Reneau, and Carlyle, and Tucker and Leal and Goode and Hatton to be our best version.
Meanwhile, Rourke played an entire season on a torn ACLDon’t know when he’s gonna be back,” Woodson said. “It’s kind of in the medical (staff’s) hand. I mean, he didn’t tear up anything, but don’t know when he’s gonna come back. I really don’t. I just gotta follow the doctor’s lead and he’s gotta do what he needs to do to get back when he can. But it won’t be any time soon.”
WTF

Get lost neg. Go back to Boiler land Bstupid.Meanwhile, Rourke played an entire season on a torn ACL
are you saying Malik is soft? you ever had a bone bruise? Rourke doesn't play his football career is basically over, commend him for doing it but 2 different situations.Meanwhile, Rourke played an entire season on a torn ACL
If you think playing on a torn ACL is going to be the new norm just because Kurtis Rourke did it, shame on you.Meanwhile, Rourke played an entire season on a torn ACL
Where did you hear two weeks? Woodson is saying he doesn't know, but it won't be any time soon.I think it's all relative. Any kind of structural damage would lead to a lengthy absence if not a prolonged absence for the rest of the season. Two weeks is short compared to 6-8 weeks.
That’s a depressing thought in words, one that sucks for us.Deep bone bruise maybe? Man, those suck so bad. Its all about the feeling of stability and pain management. WebMD, couch doctor guess here... Malik has a sprain somewhere in the ligaments around the joint, and some sort of bone bruise. And right now, to him, it feels very unstable, and very painful. Docs are saying it isn't structural, Malik is feeling like it is. Woodson is answering based off the docs and Malik's feedback.
I didn't hear two weeks. I'm saying the verbiage "shortly" is relative, especially when talking about a knee injury.Where did you hear two weeks? Woodson is saying he doesn't know, but it won't be any time soon.
We need Malik back. Ballo can’t play 38 minutes per game and when he’s out we look bad. We do play better with 4 around 1, no doubt, but we also need Malik back. Both can be true.Yep, I'm sure we're a better team without our leading scorer. Amazing to me how quickly folks write people off after a game or 2. “Shortly” offers hope. “Uncertain” spells despair.I didn't hear two weeks. I'm saying the verbiage "shortly" is relative, especially when talking about a knee injury.
You said it was nothing seriousDeep bone bruise maybe? Man, those suck so bad. Its all about the feeling of stability and pain management. WebMD, couch doctor guess here... Yep. And it appears I was right. What's your point or question? Sounds like he'll be back. Timing yet to be determined. Serious, to me, meant season ending or multiple months out. Playing through some bone bruise and/or sprained knee pain, if that's what he has, will not be a ton of fun for Malik for a while. But he'll be able to do it, relatively soon I suspect. Woodson has always been a guy that sounds pretty old school/not very compassionate with how he responds to injury questions. I wouldn't take his answers on this to mean Malik is out for much longer, necessarily.Y
You said it was nothing serious
It’s just a comment, if it isn’t torn, most guys would push through it in the heart of BIG play.If you think playing on a torn ACL is going to be the new norm just because Kurtis Rourke did it, shame on you.
Leave the medical advice up to the doctors and stick to your Boiler/Irish fandom.
So unless you have a torn up knee there's no injury where there's an excuse not to play? LOLIt’s just a comment, if it isn’t torn, most guys would push through it in the heart of BIG play.
Nah...most wouldn't. Basketball is a completely different animal than being a pocket passing quarterback. It’s just a comment, if it isn’t torn, most guys would push through it in the heart of BIG play.
Good lord dude. You ever played a sport? I’m saying you can play through injuries…especially if it isn’t torn. We don’t know what injury is, but if it isn’t torn than Woody should have been able to explain more than he did.So unless you have a torn up knee there's no injury where there's an excuse not to play? Are you this stupid when you're not online?
You should proofread. Still be dumb but not quite at the ignorant level maybe? It’s just a comment, if it isn’t torn, most guys would push through it in the heart of BIG play.
It’s not the heart of the Big Ten like you stated. It’s early conference and absolutely no sense in pushing it. Good lord surely you understand that?Good lord dude. You ever played a sport? There's "playing through" and there's playing a few days after spraining a knee, or whatever he did. He'll "play through it" when he feels its ready to play through. A lot on the line for Malik, I'm sure he's anxious to show how tough he is. But he isn't going to be stupid about it. And the medical staff isn't going to allow him to be stupid about it.Good lord dude. You ever played a sport? I’m saying you can play through injuries…especially if it isn’t torn. Did you ever see Rourke move laterally very much? That’s why he got sacked several times. A torn ACL prevents you from moving laterally.Meanwhile, Rourke played an entire season on a torn ACL
