Lunardi’s latest bracket

"It's not my job to get IU safely into the tournament ............... man."

I'll miss one thing that relates to Woody: insulting him.
One; to insult him you would have to either say it to him or type it to him. He's not here.

Two: To insult him he would actually have to care what you think. I doubt he would. Your wit is juvenile at best ..

So, the only person you're actually insulting is the mini-Woodson caricature that has taken residence in your brain. You're like a child with an imaginary friend. Does the mini Woodson eventually kick your ass at the end of your smooth brained fantasy?

It’s funny that you keep responding, because most here don’t care what you think either. By the way, what exactly does Hall of Famer under your name mean?
Talk about juvenile.

Coming from the Free Board's resident Einstein, that hurts.

Neat little story, though.

If the committee loves the SEC as much as most "experts," they probably will ... at 6-12 (14th).

Ridiculous. An at-large team should be .500 minimum in conference play to qualify. The SEC is good, but not THAT good.
If Oklahoma gets in, it will be at the expense of a more deserving team. Cue up Clint Eastwood/William Munny…..

Has IU in last 4 in and playing Oklahoma in Dayton. Damn
We want to play in the NCAA tournament so we don’t have any chance to play in the CBC held in Vegas the week of the 24th. Need to have our new coach in place and in the portal on the 24th!

IU isn't playing in the Crown. Zero percent chance. With what roster? With what coach?

If IU doesn't receive an NCAAT bid, the season is over ... and Woody is out the door by Monday.

I believe there are contractual tie ins with the B10... I would be shocked if IU wasn't there if they miss the NCAAs.

And I don't know where all the money is at with the NCAA, big conferences, this Crown tournament...but if there's any benefit to more than one of those entities, for a school like IU to be in Vegas... hmmmmmm.....

There's an out. Any team that declines will simply lose the Fox money. Portal opens on the 24th, Crown starts on the 31st. Given IU's circumstances, no way.

It's an idiotic tournament that's extremely flawed. I doubt we'll ever see it again.

I agree with the last sentence, obviously. But if that Fox money is substantial enough...they'll be there. Also, I thought I heard the major conferences were instrumental in that tournaments creation??

Its like making your kid play in the consolation game, late in the day...no one wants to be there... but they'll be there. Especially in year 1 of the thing...and that thing being something they helped create because they didn't like the "parity" in the NIT. And yes, it'll suck. Maybe they'd move on Woodson before that tournament anyways? Cluster all the way around. Best to just win tomorrow and lock down making the real tournament.

Not positive, but I think the Crown starts the week of the 24th. The day the portal opens. Need our season over and Woody gone, so new coach can be named. Thinking the Crown takes the next two teams from the Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 that don’t make the NCAA. So, if we don’t get in the NCAA, and we would be silly enough to accept a bid to that just prolongs the agony.

I've directly experienced youth teams bailing on tournament consolation games. It's an extremely selfish low class move but teams do it. One league we were in decided to ban a coach for a year when he did it. Of course he claimed that "the parents just refused to stay" or whatever.

Now in college, with paid players, for a tournament with no history or tradition -- meh. Don't really care.

Oh, I don't really care if they decline. I'm just saying that Dolson and the B10 higher ups, will make them stay and play the consolation games... if there's a lot of money involved, and/or if the B10 was as instrumental in the Crown Tourneys creation as it sounds they were.
