Was looking at the box score of the Purdue / Illinois game last night. Unfortunately the building didn’t implode.

Anyways, it look like Luke Goode is getting some solid minutes at Illinois. Anyone know why we never offered the kid? He’s likely to be a great four year player for the Illini.

It was discussed that the staff didn't think he was athletic enough, as did many on this board. It seems like IU has been missing on this type of player in favor of athletes that project higher upside for 20 years now.

but Miller Kopp is?

we have sacrificed shooters for athletes for way too long now. Goode would provide excellent balance to this team and likely wouldn’t have been suspended last night.

different staff.

Goode is a nice player and both of his parents went to IU.

Maybe he smells like weed.😆
Boooo!

(I chuckled...)

Booo!

(It's legal in Illinois right? So the kids can use it I suppose.)

Boo!

(Still one of today's funnier posts. Onya as the Aussies would say if they were free.)

Neither was Kopp. And Goode was signed by Illinois long before Woodson got here. Kopp has been dissappointing but I will be surprised if Goode achieves more in four big ten years then Kopp.

He should have been redshirted. Underwood has wasted the eligibility of two of his freshmen Recruits who would have benefitted from a RS year.

The Miller staff looked at Goode, but deemed there was too much similarity in type of player to Leal and Galloway.

I have been curious about a player from Central Noble named Connor Essegian. He is going to Wisconsin and last season averaged 24 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3. 7 assists. He is 6-4. Did our staff see him and determined that he wouldn't fit in?

That I don’t know. I never heard of IU being involved with him.

I think the redshirt is a dying concept for many/most programs, so he just may not believe in it. I think you're a PU fan and I know Painter has used it effectively and still does obviously, but I just don't see it often anymore. I'd guess the xfer portal will make it even less common. I think many coach's view is they don't want to tie up a scholly for a year on a player who isn't able to help the team.

I watched Luke for three years on Summit City Sports who does high school games from the Fort and surrounding area. I really liked him. He can shoot it.
