Luke Brown

Painter is recruiting Luke Brown and Caleb Furst. Painter sat a few rows above me last night while watching Caleb Furst and 1A #1 FW Blackhawk Christian defeat 4A FW Snider 68-56. Caleb Furst had 25 points in the win.
IU needs perimeter shooters badly, and very good in-state players Luke Brown, Jalen Blackmon, Anthony Leal, and K. Lander are all available and are being actively recruited by other schools. 6'10" Caleb Furst is the #1 HS Soph in Indiana, top 25 in the country in 2021, and a likely future 2021 McDonald's All-American.

I am more interested in Blackmon . . . But I trust Cam's judgment.

I like Jalen Blackmon's game a lot, and no significant injuries that derailed his brother's career. Luke Brown's passing is also outstanding as well as his shooting and scoring.

I’m sure his defense isn’t good enough! Eye roll

Archie better recruit this kid or he will end up at Purdue and kill us!
Wait, I thought you wanted Miller fired this year or next year at the latest? Are you resigned to the probably that he'll likely be here at least long enough to sign recruits from Brown's class?

I definitely think Miller and company should contact and to see him play (if they haven't already) but I don't think they should offer at this point. I'd like to see how he does against better competition. Rankings don't mean everything but he's unranked even with the incredible numbers he's putting up so he either hasn't been evaluated by many or there are questions about his game/future development. So they should keep an eye on him even if just to pacify the fans saying he must be recruited.

Just imagine what some on this board would be like (you included) if Miller lands this guy but he comes in and doesn't see any PT because he's not good enough. It would go from "better recruit this kid" to Miller is a terrible recruiter. Coaches are human and aren't infallible but I'll trust their judgement over that of random internet guy on who they need to recruit.

A few thoughts on these kids referenced above...and I've seen all multiple times.

Furst is the real deal... will fill out physically and is very skilled.

Luke Brown is not a P5 kid right now. Can score points but is too small to be a Big Ten type PG right now. If the kid played at a big school, the points per game would not nearly be as high. Hell, I really don't think he'd start at Carmel or HSE. The points are a by product of his competition.

Leal is a shooter and in my opinion, the kid is good enough to play in the BigTen. He's not as good as Ryan Cline was in high school but he's close. The kid will be a piece wherever he goes... but the ability is there to play in a P5 type program.

That’s complete BS all I was arguing was that there should be expectations for year 3,4, and 5. I never wanted Archie terminated this year, but merely was losing hope for the future.

The kid that guarded him last night, Tayson Parker, is being looked at by Purdue. Northwestern beat Blackford 90-79 and Parker scored 41 points for Northwestern and Brown scored 34 for Blackford. It would’ve been a fun game to be at just to watch those two go at each other. Parker has scored 1,000 points in less than two full seasons.

Haven't seen play, but read a lot on Parker. Basically read "not good enough ball handler to play point; not big enough to play the 2 on either end of the floor." Not my thoughts, only what I read.

Even some GBI'ers have mentioned this.
