Loyer and Smith are not P5 starters. They have played almost every game of their career against a defense that is in a double team. Purdue will be at the bottom of the B10 for at least the next two seasons.

Preseason top 15 most likely. But ok.

Most shocking stat of the night: Purdue had only 1 player with any assists-Braden had all 8-the rest of the entire Purdue team had 0.

And probably all 8 of Smith’s assists went to Edey.

Unfortunately they'll still be a good team next year. Top half of the Big 18 or whatever it is now.

I agree. They will finish in the top third, which is to say, top 6. Meanwhile, we may not make the B1G tourney let alone the big dance.

It’s way too early to predict where anyone will finish in the Big next season, but Purdue won’t be very good. They’ll be in the middle of the pack in the Big, and win nearly every home game. They won’t be top 25, but the bottom isn’t going to fall out either. Loyer and Smith have low major athleticism and size. They can’t overcome that in the weight room and through training. They’re battle tested juniors tho, and will insure that Purdue remains a tough team to play.
