a nice foundation to build around. With Tucker and Bailey we have two good pieces. Need to add a couple more really strong pieces, perhaps Wilkerson from Sam Houston State and a nice big. Maybe a guy like Pack along with some other complementary pieces. With some good coaching next year, we will have a team that will at least be fun to watch. Play hard and compete boys.

Yeah, my guess is he's not planning on the DePaul kid (Enright?) being a starter, but obviously is someone he trusts. I think he'll pay a lot of attention to trying to blend older experienced guys who might give him the best chance at immediate wins with players who have multiple years of eligibility so he can build and sustain his culture and systems. If Bailey winds up being a starter, I expect it will be at the 4 and he'll work to start a rim protector/rebounder along with him. I like how that worked for Michigan with Vlad and Wulf.

Will certainly need at least four more legit players who can play big minutes.

Guys that would be nice to see recruited Quincy Ballad 6-11 240 Witchita St. , Jayden Quintance 6-10 225 ASU, Magoon Gwath 6-11 210 SD State, Ante Brzovic 6-10 225 College of Charleston, Steve Jamerson 6-10 210 San Diego, Blake Harper 6-8 210 Howard, Devon Williams 6-10 UCLA, Lassine Traore 6-10 230 Xavier[inj] , Elyjah Freeman 6-8 Lincoln Memorial. Kennard Davis 6-5 So Ill., Dre Gibbs-Lawhorn 6-1 Ill , Thelmus Fulks 6-1 Mil-Wisc., Rodney Rice 6-4 Maryland,.Just a few guys that would make good possibilities as portal takes. I wonder if he is taking a few 25' HS recruits besides Sisley? I know he had some at WV but so far only his son has followed him here. Whether that's by design or not or whether the players might not have liked the way he left and want to go elsewhere, I don't know. If Wilkerson commits then another guard or two. Has anyone heard anything on Goode? A few CGs --Kyan Evans 6-1 Colorado St., Malik Thomas San Francisco 6-5, Langston Reynolds 6-4 No. Colorado, Jalen Blackmon 6-1 U Miami, Kevin Patton 6-6 USC.

I like the skill and shooting he has already with DeVries, Bailey, Sisley, and Enright. But to be competitive with teams like the ones we watched this weekend and tonight… CDD needs to get some athletes. Guards, wings, bigs, need playmakers, defenders, rebounders. The trend we’re on as of now might lead to a Wisconsin or Purdue like ceiling. Hell of a lot better than where we’ve been…for a damn long time. But dang it…I want IU to be like what we saw this weekend. And I think DeVries can do it. But he needs some dudes.

Not sure Gibbs-Lawhorn will be the type of PG he prefers. Don't think his reputation is as a great defender. Saw in an interview he said he plans to continue to recruit high schoolers to help develop culture, but at this stage that's a far more limited pool so this class may not look like his future classes... and of course he likely won't be recruiting 13 guys in future classes one would assume. The one kid he had from CA (6'5"ish wing) sounds terrific but I know he's garnering lots of interest.

Is this a tough year to rebuild a roster?

Much has been said about the portal being different this year due to the end oF the Covid year players, decreasing supply. Some have also speculated that timelines might be moving up with players trying to ink deals before the revenue sharing date.

I don’t think I have seen things looked at from a demand standpoint. Teams are seeing more and more of their players enter the portal, plus they are seeing the one time loss of the Covid exemption players. So, while I understand that “it’s early”, and there are thousands of players in the portal, it seems that this year would also be an outlier as far as increased demand for players? We aren’t the only team losing covid players like Leal and Galloway. We may have more slots to fill than others, but I have to think that almost every team has an unusual amount of spots to fill. That will also put pressure on HS recruiting.

Foundation I would say a slab right now.
Yeah pretty slow so far.

I'm still optimistic. Not much news yet but I can wait. Doesn't need his team to be ready yet.

May take a year, or two, of winning to get recruiting rolling really big. And who knows what the landscape will be, where Indiana will stand in the pecking order, of funds especially.

Sounds like neither of the top 2 assistants are coming and the kid from Sam Houston now looking at Auburn and others. Going to be a test of patience.

The lack of a full staff is most concerning to me.
We got Drew Adams baby! Fatjohns told me that was a HR

He may not get them until he gets to that Wisconsin or Purdue level for a year ot two. Let's face it, IU basketball has offered nothing attractive (other than $$$) for an elite athletic player for a number of years. Get a season or two of winning in the books and that may change.

We still only have 4 players and will need at least like 5 more legit guys to get a rotation. He is putting together a team that is likely like Wisconsin but to have any chance against times like we saw last night he is going to need athletes

True Bailey 777 but many of the really good bigs will be taken if we don't get in early on visits or zooms. No panic but have to be in the game to win.
I was half joking its not really that early anymore even though some say so.

What in the world is the point of this dead period? We basically have zero rules and unlimited transfers but we have a dead period. Beyond comical. NCAA still trying to pretend like they are relevant I guess.
You can do zoom meetings during this dead period. Just not campus visits.

Like top 5-10 rankings, All AMERICANS, PLAYERS OF Year, Final Fours, you can't do much better than that. IU would be luckier than Hell to get a rats ass chance of being in the same Zip code let alone getting to Wisconsin or Purdue or Michigan or Michigan State Ceilings.

Is Purdue gonna win a conference game in football this year? 😂

It is when you need to sign 10-11 of them

Not only that, but also rosters expand next year, to 15 I think.

Ha ha. You said Final Fours, as in plural. Ha ha. Purdue - Zach Edey = Creighton.

You should wear a drool bib and safety helmet when posting.

The 4 BT teams listed above have represented the BT in FF's the last 20 years and should be favored to get there next year. Of course Purdue has been running away with the All AMERICANS the last 10 years, but who is counting? Not IU, you can't get to one the last 20 years in anything.

Purdue will not be favored to get to the final four next year, or did you mean top four of the Big 10?
