Looks Like an 11-Seed For Us, If..

No chance VT gets a better seed than us. The ACC is straight trash, the computer knows it. I’ll be shocked if any of them make the second weekend. The big ten is gonna do well this year. Might even be there year.
It would be criminal for VT not to have a better seed than us after winning the ACC tourney like that.

If we are an 11 seed, we will play a 6 seed in the first game and then 3 if we win. I actually think this is a good position for us. Additionally, I think one of the things that hurt us this year is that we did not play “big ten “ wrestleball. I almost think different officiating may benefit teams like us and Illinois and will hurt Wisconsin and MSU.
You are right. A team like LSU or St. Mary's and then a team like an Illinois or Purdue would be cool.

Outside of the Ws and Ls in the ledger, tournaments don't weigh more than the overall season.

That’s not true at all. It’s completely asinine. They value the conference tournaments the most as they should. Neutral court games end of year are far more important than November. Cmon man.
Dude, they value the winner because it’s an automatic bid. They literally say the tourneys as a whole have way less influence. It’s the whole body of work. What a moron you are.

also, before their win against UNC on Friday, VT wasn’t even a first 4 out team and still may been out before the Duke game

VT cannot be in the play in games. AQ’s are guaranteed to not have to play the play ins.

I don’t think that’s the case because 16 seed AQ teams are in play in games
Only the 16 seeds as AQs are subject to the play-in games. Two of them will get advanced to the field automatically, the other four play it off. VT won't be a 16, so they'll automatically advance to the field.

Right now, the 16s shape up to be NORF, CSUF, BRY, TXSO, WRST and TAMCC. I'd figure the last four go to Dayton, while NORF and CSUF get advanced into the field.

The other two play-ins in Dayton are the last four at-larges (which I have right now as XAV, RUTG, MICH and WYO).

Hope you’re right.

Va Tech likely jumped us last night.

Texas A&M might already have. But for sure will if they beat Kentucky today.

Davidson game shouldn’t matter I wouldn’t think. Unless IU is one of the last 1 or 2 teams in. Which I can’t imagine is true.
TN beat KY yesterday and TN beat A&M today. You have been brainwashed by the KY happy media. :)

Can you make an argument for a 10 seed? IU is top 40 in Sagarin (30), Kenpom (37) and NET (39). Very doubtful it will happen, some are saying 11 so I'm predicting 12. I hope they don't drop us in a play-in game but I wouldn't put it past them if they are trying to make a splash. But if they end up a 12 or 13 that implies their overall seed is between 45 and 52. Idk that just seems a little low to me, even when I'm trying not to be a homer.

On the flip side though once you get past the four seeds to the fives the margin between five and 12 or even 13 isn't very big. So in my mind the matchup is more important than the seed, and I'm hoping for a good / favorable matchup.

Looks like the Illinois win didn’t count. Looks like that interview I saw was spot on.
