Looking For Crowd Song?

I would perfectly comfortable with the Amboy Dukes "Journey to the Center of your Mind". Criminally underrated.

Huge fan of the Cat Scratch Fever and Free for All albums. And Fred Bear is an awesome song from the mid 90s
I think the guitar into to 'Stranglehold' would be epic.

I still find it hard to believe Uncle Ted never did drugs. I mean, what the hell was "Journey to the Center of Your Mind" about then?

If the Hoosiers are going to go full on redneck I suggest Tammy Wynette’ Stand By Your Man. It went over well in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Yes I am joking,
You could do the version from "The Blues Brothers Movie" Belushi and Band standing on stage in the Country Bar behind the chicken Wire fenced stage trying to find something to please the crowd so They are not being showered with glass from breaking beer bottles.
"Mam, What type of music do You play here?"
"Oh We have both kinds, Country and Western"

They need to match up a few clips of Coach Cignetti on the Big Screen doing his facial expressions with about half of this during the 2 minute time out when we're winning big...

Here is another thought. play the theme song from the Blues Brothers Movie and put together a dance group dressed in dark suits, hats, and sunglasses and let them mimic some of the dance moves from the movie. no singing for the crowd to do, but it should get Them moving.

I still say the team should come out to "Walk" by Pantera. It would be really easy to edit the lyrics out after the intro and then go straight into the chorus....The whole stadium would be amped.

This will never happen but just think about a full stadium singing along with this - tune to 2:27 mins in. And then the guitar at 2:50 blaring would be epic.

Regardless, IUFB needs something unique and preferably organic.

Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. Not kidding. I've seen it work with small crowds.
Sweet Caroline in a Boston subway

For consideration, think lyrics age well (for students and alums) and apply to the program Cig has started. It is a band current enough for current students and alums <55. Plus, if you are looking for stadium energy at end of 3rd quarter, the video below should demonstrate that.

When you were young - killers

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now
Here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined
When you were young

Can we climb this mountain?
I don't know
Higher now than ever before
I know we can make it if we take it slow
Let's take it easy
Easy now
Watch it go

We're burning down the highway skyline
On the back of a hurricane that started turning
When you were young
When you were young

And sometimes you close your eyes
And see the place where you used to live
When you were young

They say the devil's water
It ain't so sweet
You don't have to drink right now
But you can dip your feet
Every once in a little while

You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways
You play forgiveness
Watch it now
Here he comes

He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But he talks like a gentlemen
Like you imagined
When you were young

Talks like a gentleman
Like you imagined
When you were young
I said, he doesn't look a thing like Jesus
He doesn't look a thing like Jesus
But more than you'll ever know

Started from the bottom, now we here...

(problem is this guy is a UK fan and also become an outcast, but the song is fairly appropriate other than the swearing)

Here's an ancient one that we have to work in somewhere next Saturday (maybe warmups). Cignetti would get a kick out of being surprised by it I'm certain...

IU came out of no where this year. Nobody expected that IU would be 9-0. Kinda came out of nowhere like a HURRICANE so I say the Scorpions Rock You Like a Hurricane is a fitting song.

I'd give it a whirl during one of the timeouts... with this exact video on the screens. Might catch on. I'm not opposed.
Yes, they could play a lot of Indiana artists. I suggested Shotgun by Jr. Walker and the All Stars above. I think that one would go over well and Jr. Walker is Hoosier, as is Booker T.

interesting song but doesn't bring the energy.
They played it at the Michigan game. I had to come back here to confirm it was the same song.

Plus side, apparently they read the forum. Down side, it is awful and brought zero energy.

Hell, the Germans yesterday were singing Sweet Caroline during play. That's soccer fan energy for ya. We'll find it eventually.

It seemed like a LOT of people were singing along with Queen at the end of third quarter!

I don't think that was the same song. But I bet they do read this board.

I THINK it's already "taken." To the extent that matters. I found this video of PSU doing it. Not sure if that's who I was thinking of though.

That's a quality song though for the purpose.

I've almost given up on the search though. It looks like they've settled on "We Will Rock You." I appreciate the pun, the ease, and how well known it is. But it screams elementary school basketball to me. And very dated as far when it was something that was played a lot at stadiums. Similarly, they've been playing "Rock And Roll Part II," I guess someone got their hands on an old Jock Jams CD.

They play at the end of wins, but at this point, I'd be open to "All I do is Win" by DJ Khaled playing between the 3rd & 4th. At least it's a nod to CCC, has a hand motion everyone (particularly the students) can do, has a catchy beat. Not my favorite/preferred song by any stretch, but it's something I guess.

Back to your suggestion though, I like where your heads at. It doesn't HAVE to be hip-hop or rock or even something remotely new. OSU does "Hang on Sloopy," your suggestion, "Dixieland Delight" at Bama. It just has to be something that is fun to sing a long to.

Hey Baby and Sweet Caroline have been played at Memorial for decades. They used to have a text vote for the next song the band played.

Just because Ped St has a full stadium doesn't make Hey baby or We Are "taken" by them. In fact IU cheerleaders had an excellent dance routine they did at BB games to hey baby.

To hell with Ped St.

Both songs work, pick one and gooooo.

It did, but it's so unoriginal. We will rock you? Puhleaze......

Unoriginal yes, but the crowd gets into it. The pic of Hep's rock on the screen helps to make it out own.

Several of the suggestions in this thread I have never heard of.

To find something original that most of the people know is quite a task and I am not sure it exists.
