Lock the Thread...

Reneau STILL has butterfingers when trying to catch a pass or loose ball! That’s a little concerning.

Tucker was off early on but ended up doing ok.

Cupps still needs to look for his shot more.

Ballo is just like Peyton Sparks but smoother and more in control.

Goode will be our best 3pt shooter hands down. Missed a couple wide open bunnies though fading away Kopp style.

MM still bricking many 3’s with an occasional make.

#12 looks like an ok 3rd string emergency C.

L3al still L3al, but will be hard for him to find consistent minutes.

Rice has good handles and Carlyle was ok.

All in all, not looking like a bad team, but like yall said, can’t take much out of this session.

“IT’S STILL FOOTBALL SEASON!!!”

Sparks couldn’t carry Ballos jock strap. Quit reading after that nonsense.

Poor energy.

I thought Goode and Ballo looked pretty good. Rice has a lot of potential, as has been expected.

Looks like they will have to figure out who they are and how to play, again.

Woodson has a ton of work to do and as usual, it looks like he took a long vacation in the off-season.

Hey now, we should be thankful he took this job!

I honestly wasn't impressed. Can't really take much from a scrimmage but it's very possible that Kenpom ranking was pretty accurate.

I just think it's a waste of time to make any judgements after a public scrimmage like that. As I remember it, Knight used to make his kids go through his usual tough practices before a scrimmage. We don't know if Woody did the same with these kids. I expect we might see a very different performance next week against Tennessee unless Woody does a lot of experimenting, which is likely.
PS I almost fell off my chair after reading that Ballo/Peyton Sparks comparison.

Have you watched the past 3 years?

Do we have the same roster? Shit bro, if you're going to make the claim that Rice, Carlyle, Goode, and Tucker can't shoot after a 12-minute scrimmage, I hope you watched a shitload of tape on these guys. Who knows, maybe you're right. Don't say it until you know it.

I like Tucker's length. He gets that fade away shot off well.

You can tell what someone did in the off season by seeing them on TV for a few minutes?

*eyeroll*

Carlyle looked a bit out of place. He's a player that's used to having the ball in his hands to create but may not get much of that due to system.

Offense still attacking the lane first, slightly better spacing, but still no secondary actions if first actions break down and they settled for first opportunity many times instead of searching for a better one.

Just re watched the scrimmage. I am not going to jump to any conclusions over a 12 minute intra squad scrimmage.
There were some things I liked and some things that did not reach my expectation level.
My two favorite guys on the court were Ballo and Hatton.
The game vs UTenn will be very telling.

Ballo got the ball once away from the basket and took it to the basket for a score. I didn't expect him to do that. I didn't feel he protected the rim as I thought he would. Hatton scored more than I thought he would. It was a scrimmage and I expect Ballo will be a beast.

Mack played like it was a scrimmage. Not much energy. Can’t gather much from that. Except if Cupps plays 20 mins a game we are screwed.

Carlyle may serve us better as a "Microwave" off the bench.
