Lock Down the State

Ive never cared about where a kid was from...I just want them to be very good players - and be great for Indiana.

If the talent is equal I would take the Indiana player every time. Better fundamentals, solid HS coaching, brings a whole community fanbase to IU, helps build recruiting momentum within the state of Indiana.

I know you were busy watching the NIT much Michigan St had a Freshman from Indy starting in the Final Four.

It's too bad the NCAA doesn't allow for unlimited roster spots.

It's like in 1986 when Michigan State had an all American guard from Indiana leading them that averaged 27 points per game while Knight chose Stew Robinson and his 6 pts instead.

Nice recruiting Knight you dumbass clown.

What happened the next year, mouth? Oh yeah! IU National Champion while you suffered from ass chafe about MSU's recruiting. As between RMK's judgment and yours? You wouldn't make a pimple on RMK's ass at anything.

Ha ha you've actually made my point.

Even hall of famers like Knight don't/can't recruit in hindsight...but trolls like Feepaw do when they just try to bitch about everything they can.

Knight and Archie have similar credibility in your mind correct?

They're both coaches that might have missed on recruiting choices...like every coach that has ever coached, but please continue with your over exaggerating of everything.

At least it's amusing.

Because a kid from IN was on a MSU FF team it means Archie has failed recruiting the state? Lol

Your irrational hate makes your retarded-er

Bobby had to evaluate character first for his squads. They didn't
have the low down AAU teams, the ever exhausting High school
tournaments and Oak Hills and other basketball factories back in
the day. Of course Knight probably would have avoided this temptation
and got out of coaching earlier.

Scott Skiles wasn't a high priority at all for Bobby for his personal reasons.

La Lamiere really isn't a state school. Anyone who thinks your dealing with say a Bloomington or a Eavansville public school.. Knows nothing about the recruiting process..

He hasn’t failed recruiting the state, I was just correcting Taz again.

He’s failed on the court, and therefore his recruiting has gone down the drains.

We don't need a serious discussion about if we should have recruited Skiles or not.

That wasn't the point.

He was just the first non Indiana, Indiana player that came to mind.

Since he also went to MSU it seemed like a good pick.

Shawn Kemp was the other since he was the #2 national ranked player of 1988 who went to Kentucky.

That's more in feepaws wheelhouse of disgust as proof of recruiting supposedly being a 'collosal failure dumpster fire'. Since we brought in a nobody named Jamal Meeks (oh and missed on another Indiana kid that I forgot...Sean Woods).

What the hell was going on back then!!!??? The program is definitely going in the crapper and will be lucky to win 12 games if we can't even keep kids like Kemp and Woods.

We're losing our two best players in Smart and Garrett (after a disappointing year of transition while getting beat by effing Richmond in the first game of the NCAA) and only bringing in one burger boy in Anderson while we whiffed on Kemp and Woods, and will have to rely on a sophomore Edwards who's inconsistent on the court and off it.

89 is going to be a pure s$#tshow!!! Worse than 85!!!

Lol

Oh for the record, we did recruit Kemp and he asked his host, Ricky Calloway what 'benefits' we get...and Knight stopped recruiting him.

Kentucky would later get a near death penalty for recruiting issues.

Very similar to what's going on with Zion and Bagley today.

It can take time to get things going but you don’t know shit about basketball so not surprising that slipped past you, f******* garbage man. Lol.

Wasn’t the first time Knight said NO to a talented in-state player.

Sam Drummer was one of the state’s best in 1975. He had committed to IU, but when the assistant coach showed up for Indiana the morning Drummer could sign his NLI Mama Drummer asked what they were getting for him signing.

The assistant was dumbfounded. He called Knight and relayed her request. Knight told him “Tear up the form and get the hell out of there.”

Many old-timers I know think that it cost Drummer the Mr. Basketball award Kyle Macy won that year.

This a true story or a Bob Knight folktale?

You guys are so full of shit.

To the in-state guys Archie has offered, he’s missed on one - Brooks. When he starts doing an 0-fer get worried; until then . . .

Quit being so rational, the crazies aren't interested in following
Are you a dumbass or just trying to stir the pot here?

Facts. I see men complaining on this board as if they were acting post menopausal, using emotion and uninformed knee jerk reactions, but still feeling like they are making sense in their idiotic posts

Yeah I had no idea as that's a bit before my time.

Another good example of knowing the character of person you want to recruit along with the talent.

I'd imagine Kemp would have been a talent upgrade over Jadlow in 89 but...Kemp would later get kicked out of Kentucky for stealing jewelry I think of Sean Sutton.

He later said f it, turned pro and had a really good career for Seattle.

I

Ummm. He also got Whitley, Allen and looks like Juzang may reclass and jump in the mix. So with Brooks..Cal locked down the number one over all small forward for this year. And Possibilly one of the best for next years. If he reclass for this year. Allen top thirty player. And you guys know who good Brooks is . Losing out on players staying home to play for a coach, who has coached them since they were young kids. Really dosent seem to bad. As long as you have back up. Cal lost Jeffries. Two days later signs gets the best player at that position. Ummm not to bad

Or it can just take time and stay terrible. That’s much more likely. But I take it you don’t know what statistics means.

You keep mentioning statistics but never post any, just anecdotal evidence. What is the probability that IU will stay terrible under Miller? Please include a link or your methodology in arriving at that number. Thanks in advance.

If I said 5+5=10 you’d ask me for a link to a 1st grade math textbook.

Educate yourself for once.

Trust Fred.
Trust the process.

They already said that a program like IU with limited success and history is simply going to take a Herculean effort to overcome where we are at. And, that it’s going to be 15 years but just need to stay the course and know that one day when most of this board is either: retired, in assisted living, or in the ground....this whole thing returns to glory.

In other words, you don't have actual statistics to back up your references to statistics. Got it. I didn't really think you did but I thought I'd ask anyways.

Why the hyperbole? No fans or anyone in the program have said that. You are way too old to be such a whiny b*tch.
