Listen to UCLA women’s coach talk about invite to UConn and ND practice

And then think about Woody banning ex-players from practice.

I don't know what this has to do with Woody banning players from practice? Were ALL former players banned from practice? OR just ones that aired negative opinions about Woody?

If Geno or Muffet had thought Cori Close was going to go on local radio or a podcast and bad mouth them, do you think they would have invited Cori back another time?

Lastly, did you know that Mike Woodson isn't our coach any longer?

WGAFF about Woodson. He's gone. He can't hurt you it anymore.

Y'all are like the guy that constantly complains about his ex while having a new partner. It's almost if you just enjoy complaining, whining and crying like a lil B. Like being a malcontent is a hobby or something.

Don't be that person ..

I thought the one good thing about having Mike Woodson as coach, is that he'd unite the former players behind the program again. Not so much. Hopefully CDD invites former players back to be around the program with open arms.
It was really never going to happen, regardless of the coach. It assumes all former players are alike. But they aren't. Some played for Knight, some played for Davis, or Crean, or Archie, or now Woodson. And all of those teams no doubt had cliques within the team.

Former players run the gamut from old men to people still in their 20s. No coach is going to make all those people happy.

If you put a team on the floor that plays smart and hard and are receptive to and respect former players, you're going to make 95% of them happy. Enough that the outliers show themselves for who they are.

In that regard, I compare everyone to UNC, they have a really strong culture with former players. Rashad McCants is about the only former Heel I've ever heard not say positive things about UNC and support the program. And, while what he said I think was mostly true, he's not what I would call a likeable guy.

Fair enough and you're probably right.

I think in IU's case there might be some number of former players who will never really forgive the way Knight's career was ended here, but I don't know that for a fact.

Well said. People need to get over it.

Well, apparently I missed on the point I was trying to make, and that was that women’s basketball is more focused on trying to expand the sport. When you can was winning championships early on the first two rounds were played on home courts just like the NIT is now. Number one seeds were beating number 16 seeds by 50 points. It will be interesting to see what happens to the popularity of women’s basketball going forward as the game gets better and teams are playing student athletes who are going to be there for four years.

I watched an interview today of Dane Fife with Jim Coyle. Dane is selling insurance these days.

Maybe you were thinking that but what you put with the comment about Woodson doesn't line up with your alleged intent.

It will be interesting going forward to see if CDD allows or reaches out to former players to come to practice. Think the players would contact him at first , but I’m sure he has more pressing issues at the moment
