Thanks for the news, I am sure some team will sign him if he wants to continue to play. I am sure he has played long enough to get retirement from the NFL fund.

My wife is from Michigan she's a huge long suffering lions fan. Saw him on the bench in their last preseason game. They have two good young backups. If he wants to keep playing he'll land somewhere. The young man's done very well for himself.
I've been a Sudfeld fan. Watched and rooted for him , mostly a little preseason as he almost never played otherwise. Telling fans of the Eagles that once he 'gets it' he has the tools to be solid. Was happy the Lions signed him. I like Hooker but thought Nate would win the backup job with his experience. Thought he'd show it preseason.
But for decent NFL tools, he's just... not good. I don't know why it is. But so many times, he just can't make the play.
He did OK. An NFL QB for a few years. There are worse QBs in the league, I think, but not as sure anymore. I can't see anybody picking him up. Too many other potential backups. Lions even signed Nate Fromm to be the 3rd QB, brutal.
