We now have very good coaches at all positions and the team will reflect that. It may take a year to really see the results of this coaching staff, but I bet we see improvement this year.

… according to Pro Football Focus. Carpenter and West were two of the top 10 returning tackles in the conference. West ranked second with a 85.9 rating while Carpenter was third and had a rating of 80.8. They were behind Mason Graham of Michigan who was first with a 90.0 rating.
Kamara was the eighth-best returning edge rusher with a 76.9 rating.
West’s addition to Indiana’s defense was a major addition, adding him to the duo of JMU transfers.

CJ West is rated 2nd in the BIG DL behind a Michigan DL expected to go in the 1st round of the pro draft, & Carpenter rated 3rd. Not too shabby for our Hoosiers!
Finally looks as though IU has a potentially promising DL. This alone puts the defense and the team in a better W/L position. Kuntz with a couple competent pieces on the chess board can ravage hell on an opponent.
This is also good for our OL as they have some good players to go against each day in practice.

Yes, our OL will have very good DL players to practice with every day. They will go into games finding the opponents not better than who they practiced against.
The PFF OL grades will be telling with Carter Smith and Katic returning.
Our DL as graded by PFF "three defensive line transfers to IU are among the eight highest-graded 2024 Big Ten players returning to college football at their respective positions" This group on defense will improve with the coaching they get as will the entire front. It makes so our LBs and DBs show up even better. Our offense should be very good and with the defense and STs IU could be salty this year.

Bray Lynch is a tuff, strong customer, & he'll see plenty of action this year. This will be a big year for him to improve & gain experience for the future.
I like Texas HS QB's and Texas HS OL performers from winning programs cause there is really good coaching in Texas HS.
Top CBs and top DTs bode well for more INTs.
Practice v. Top WRs should make them better.
Cedarius & D'Angelo should have many int's opportunities with our stout defense. Our defense will surprise.
Agreed. I for 1 may have been underestimating the potency of the new D. Definitely talent with skills to work with. Hope ST's can be an adequate force to produce some advantageous field position.
