Lincoln Riley

I don't get the perception the Media seems to have of Riley. They keep talking about Him like He is a Coaching Genius even though he has never won anything significant and keeps finding ways to lose games. Last Year, there was criticism of the Team primarily due to their terrible Defense, and Riley seemed to avoid a lot of the flack. Maybe He is lucky that He Coaches in the land of fruits and nuts, where Professional Teams dominate the Headlines and College Football is an afterthought. I would submit that He would be under a lot more pressure if He Coached at a program in the South or Midwest.

He was under pressure at Oklahoma, which is why he bolted for USC.

You can’t argue his qb development success with Mayfield, Murray and Williams. They’ve all made a lot of NFL money because of his tutelage.

As far as in-game coaching and clock management, he’s proven to be horrible. Late leads vs UM, Minny and PSU all got away. That sequence Saturday vs PSU, of letting the clock run down while at the opponents 46 with 47 seconds and 3 TO’s was as brain dead of a coaching decision as I’ve ever seen. He let it get down to 14, then PSU called a TO. Next play? INT.
