I’m going to address my comment to the players and coach of IU’s basketball team. I hope someone will convey my words to them.
Indiana can play with any team in the Big Ten. But for the last minute or two of the games, IU could have defeated Northwestern (at NW), Maryland, Purdue (at Purdue), Michigan, UCLA, and Oregon (at Oregon) - and they DID beat Michigan State in East Lansing and Purdue (decisively) in Bloomington. The differences in these losses have been a missed free throw here, a turnover there, and an incredible shot by an opponent there.
IU needs to have the pride and confidence to come out and decisively defeat Ohio State in our last home game, and to go into the Big Ten tournament with that same pride and confidence to be competitive. Indiana has never won a Big Ten tournament. What would be more fitting than for IU to surprise everyone by winning in Indianapolis this year.
One game at a time – let’s go Hoosiers!!!
