Did Bailey shrink?Hope our 6’8 guys can handle another 7’1 - 7’4 Big Ten player
If you're talking about Bailey, 70% of his baskets were ATR. Which means at the rim, which is in the paint. He’s not really a post player. Mainly outside the paint
Don't stop him, he's on a roll.If you're talking about Bailey, 70% of his baskets were ATR. Which means at the rim, which is in the paint.
the OP isn't wrong, just TMP's insistence on arguing. Bailey is a perimeter player on offense, he's just is an exceptional driver, but he's not really a post player. Terrific fit paired with guys like DeVries and Wilkerson who shoot from deep. Ballo for instance scored ATR 75% of the time, but is a true low post player, totally different than Bailey, even though their ATR % aren't that different. Heck, Conerway scores at the rim 63% of the time, so I guess he's a low post guy much of the time too?Don't stop him, he's on a roll.
Curtis isn't really a post player either, similar to Bailey. At least a size that actually makes sense was used this time though...it was easier to understand what he was getting at.the OP isn't wrong, just TMP's insistence on arguing. I wasn't writing about Curtis at all, just agree that Bailey isn't a low post player on O at least. Cluff, Purdue's big? Basically one of the big reasons I'd still like to see us add another rim protecting big. he'll likely destroy Bailey. I'd imagine we'll lean a lot on the UF transfer to guard him and have Bailey on TKR more... who will also give him fits.Curtis isn't really a post player either, similar to Bailey. But with this particular reference... any of our 3 guys 6-8 and taller, probably even DeVries, could effectively guard Curtis, I'm sure. The Penn State big, Cluff, etc... that will be an issue, I'm sure.
If we don't add a big, the Purdue matchup will be interesting, for sure.I wasn't writing about Curtis at all, just agree that Bailey isn't a low post player on O at least. Cluff, Purdue's big? I did think it was disappointing that we didn't go after Curtis more given his size, his class, and his perimeter skills. Seemed like a perfect fit for what DeVries would want in a post in future years and at least another body with 7'er size this year. Again, just feels like for whatever reason, DeVries didn't like the fit, and I accept and support that.
Purdue looks like Purdue. Slow and well coached. Looking like 2 bigs lineup. If we don't add a big, the Purdue matchup will be interesting, for sure.
We'll probably have to play 2 of our bigger guys against them... where as we won't have to against most teams. Alexis is a pretty important player for us.
