Butler had a taste of steak and doesn't want to go back to hamburger.
What does a nice guy have to do with anything? His job was to win basketball games! You can find nice guys in the bar down the street! A lot cheaper.
How much do you pay for "nice guys in the bar down the street"?
I don’t pay for friends, I don’t like nice guys. They are phony.
They said archie was a nice guy also. Who cares if you don't win you are gone.
Knew it during first season. Way below what they have usually had. And ofcourse Bloom. kicked my ass for saying it.
Butler is in a big boy league now. Gonna be a lot tougher to compete consistently long-term, IMHO. Not much of a budget to pay coaches compared with their new peers.

Mike Davis was the consummate "nice guy". Those kind of people are harder to fire than assholes. With assholes, you just mail them a Zero Tolerance mandate, then sit back and wait until they fire themselves. It's the cowards way of doing it, avoiding direct confrontation. Myles Brand was a coward.
Mike Davis gets the IU coaching "Best Smile Award". The stark whiteness of his prominent dentition in such contrast to his dark complexion opens a lot of doors for him, doors that otherwise would have been slammed shut.
Archie Miller was not a smiler. It's hard to grin with pursed lips and "stink-wrinkle" in puckered state.
Kudos to you for not paying for flesh as far as guys and friends. When I was a kid I used to buy an older guy I thought was my friend candy and pop. We call it soda in Pennsylvania. After the money to buy these things were gone then he didn't want to be my friend anymore. You can't pay for friends or relationships with the opposite sex and have it go real well.
I married my second ex-wife for money, along with delusions of living in a big home on Easy Street. I lasted five years before she begged out.
