Posters on the Butler board are hearing that he may end up at Purdue Ft. Wayne. Seriously. Don't kill the messenger.

And there is a difference between dark smoke and white smoke: dark smoke indicates combustion and fire and white smoke indicates steam. I think we are seeing white smoke and the posters may be blowing off steam.

Yeah..., unless they have some extraordinarily unique graduate program that no one else on the planet offers that he's hot to add a degree from to his resume' I highly doubt IUPUFtWayne is at the top of his list...

Has any recruiting analyst (Rabby, Snow, etc . . .) even mention IPFW? No?

That tells you everything you need to know . . . ;)

Well..., to counter the Butler&GBI/pu forum rumor:

I heard from an Uber driver..., that he had read on a Ball State sports forum..., that Brunk has decided to transfer to (drum roll) the University of Southern Indiana; so he can obtain a graduate degree in Second Language Acquisition, Policy and Culture.

//That's a real graduate degree, by the way...//

He is supposed to have said he's looking forward to "owning" that 6'3" Center from Point Loma Nazarene next season...;):D

It’s the college course description of the pompous world of academia that accompanies assumptions of superior intelligence.

“I’ll take ‘Cops and Robbers’ for $100, Alex.”

My barber who cuts the hair of Brunk's cousin twice removed knows where Brunk is going. He has known for 20 years. He is a basketball psychic. Just like Uber driver and a thousand others who know before the kid knows.lol

Just food for thought...

There is great demand for instructors and trainers skilled in teaching English as a Second Language or other languages as a second. Many schools, including my local school, are trying to find teachers with advanced degrees and with second language expertise.

What makes you think that southern Indiana doesn't have that demand?

They may well have such a need but a graduate degree with the title Second Language Acquisition, Policy and Culture seems more than a bit on the wide ranging, academic gibberish, ultra nonspecific side...

I never take myself too seriously and I hope others don’t either (how could they?). Yes, it’s a changing world in which we live and seemingly changing at the speed of light compared to the days of sending up smoke signals. People need to be adverse in several languages now just to be able to extract a cup of sugar from our neighbors every now and then.

There are some people in southern Indiana speaking the language of forked tongue. Nothing gets your neighbor’s attention better than spewing a little gibberish with your eyes rolled back underneath the lids. Next thing you know you’re walking back home with a whole sack of sugar just because they wanted to get rid of you as fast as they can.

I’m sorry, but I just had some Jehovah’s Witnesses show up at our door and we live in the middle of nowhere. Nice folks, but not something I wanted to deal with while drinking coffee in my skivies. I was very cordial and let them speak in refined English.

They do get around.

Answered my door once to a pair of them, with one lady decked out to the "9's" in her finest dress and she seemed to take great exception to the fact that I had answered "My" door in lesser atire: barefoot and in sweatpants & a nice T-shirt (no holes, no wife beater cut offs either)...

I wanted to be a smart-aleck but stayed polite.

They were not invited in...

I have a lifelong PU friend who never let's me forget that when we were in high school, my dad let some JW folks come into the house for what proved to be a long chat. My dad was a "born again Christian" and a real nice guy to people. He asked them lots of questions regarding their faith. The only thing lacking were the crumpets and tea.The problem was that the UCLA vs Purdue game in the Final Four had just begun with Rick Mount/Billy Keller and Lou Alcindor (aka Kareem Abdul "Ja-blunt"). It was a great game but we missed a large part of it with the distraction. Fortunately for my dad and me, Purdue lost in a very close game. Everybody seems to have "witnessed" a good story with them knocking...knocking at your chamber door.

Anyone out there actually know when Brunk will make his decision?

I know there was a very recent "quiet" period, I don't when it ends...

**Edit: changed "quite" to quiet...

if we're seeing white smoke does it really mean Brunk's been elected Pope? Has anyone told Francis?

pretty impressive for a kid with only a bachelor's degree...:)

I am good friends with a cousin of Joey Brunk. I originally asked him for some insight once I heard he was transferring and he told me out of respect for the family he had no comment. After I had saw that Brunk visited IU last week, I approached him again about it. He asked me how I knew that he had been down at IU and I told him it was all over social media that day. So, I said," is Brunk going to IU?" All he said was "probably." ;)

Quote abraxis"Nevermore".
Never more than ever now. I might add that as I stood there in my skivey’s (never “whitey-tighties” ever more) I kept glancing over at the JW guy’s JW wife to see if I could catch her stealing a glance at the “package” I held in my hand. I must give JW’s credit...her eyes never wavered against the wind. She remained strong. That said, there were times I shook her husband’s hand three times as easy enough for me to say, but I choose to think in envy, not. They were nice folks...he’s been in the county since ‘55 so he knows a lot of people. I congratulated him as one of the honored ones. I meant it and he felt it so we had a longer chat than normal, this and that...about now type stuff. They gave and I waved, wandering in the Wonder forever, the hidden beauty, the call...to nature of it all.

Some A+ Purdue trolling. They don't want IU picking up Brunk or any potential recruit.
Are you really that excited about possible picking up Brunk? He didn't start for Butler and they were not very good. He seems like a role player so he can probably contribute a few minutes a game. He does hustle. Is his skill set good enough to play at IU? I'm not being trying to start anything but I am curious. I know Purdue had recruited him but I don't think he'd play in front of Haarms or Williams. I know IU needs bigs. What does everybody think?

I don't think anyone's thinking he's coming in and gonna be all-conference, and I'm sure you haven't minded having your center guarded by guys 6'7" and under for an eternity, but in case you haven't noticed, we've been a bit lacking on post depth for YEARS. Brunk would give us a good rotation player and that's all I've ever seen anyone suggest, but yes, I'd be excited to have him as a backup to DD and in our post rotation. I think he'd contribute.

I think we could use him on the team. He'd be a good addition.

Who else can Archie get that is 6'11" and has playing experience in a major conference on this short notice and be immediately eligible to play next season?
Joey Brunk would be an upgrade in post depth, and he would play immediately at IU. He fills an exact need. Then go sign a 3pt shooter! To fill the other immediate need.
