Las Vegas Ticket Options

What are all my options for getting tickets to the Dec. 10 UA game at MGM Grand in Las Vegas? IU told my wife (we are both IU grads but I dropped my Varsity Club status a long time ago) because we are not season ticket holders we'll have to look for another source. After searching StubHub, SeatGeek, and directly through MGM I found some seats open but behind the basket lower and upper. That's like not seeing the game at all except from an over-the-court screen. Sadly, I'll be in Vegas then but may be hoping they televise the game.

no idea where behind the basket seats are available, but there are really good seats behind the basket, just as there are really bad seats on the sides.

in bball, proximity means more than endzone vs sideline.

in a football stadium venue being used for bball, that becomes a dicier issue, but from the pics of the Las Vegas venue for this game, that isn't the case here, so there can be very good end zone seats i'd think.

whether good ones are available is another matter.

Ive looked into the Colts Raiders game being played the same weekend. I got a little discount from MGMs betting app, but still would have to pay over $1k for Plane/Tickets/Hotel, etc. Bullseye event group has some deals for the Colts game there if you want to split with a few people, but thats $1k-2k! Most Vegas deals are slightly cheaper if you stay from friday through sunday, but still expect to spend some $$$! Ofcouse Id also probly lose another $1k betting trying to get that $ back from the blackjack tables!

Thanks for the input. We actually looked into the Colts game also (what a bundle!). Fortunately my costs are really low for this trip; driving distance plus lodging is paid for. I've never liked sitting behind the backboard & I remember sitting behind the baseline as a player once -- it's was an awful view.

Tickets haven’t went on sale for IU ticket holders yet. Once they do there will be more available.

Colts play Vegas in November, we play az in Mid December. Hell of a long 30 day weekend in Vegas.

same for UNC? I've started seeing some tickets, but not many and I wonder if the ones I've seen are phishes

If you have had season tickets for numerous years you can guarantee those seats for this year pretty much. Brokers know where the seats will be and list them for sale. Especially UNC because it will be the biggest ticket of the year and some people pay crazy amounts now to secure the seat.

The actual ticket draft will be in late august I assume. So no seats have technically been assigned yet for the season.

You are correct. I'd go broke for sure. Vegas is an easy drive for us so we can get there more often, though I stay away to save money. I'll wait for the fallout from season ticket holders and if that doesn't pan out I'll hope for tv coverage & just go to a show or two. The last show I saw was the Beatles Love and it was really good, though the Beatles fans wanted more music & history and the cirque du soleil people wanted more "cirque". I drooled over a display case with guitars signed by all four Beatles.

I saw copperfield last month. The show was better 30 years ago I assume. I donated enough at the craps table that I can stay for free anytime I want going forward.

Very good of you to have sympathy for the casino and donate to such a fine organization. :)

I’ve got a small group going, prob arrive Friday evening
I’ve already had 3 good friends tell me no because of family conflicts. Getting married and having kids is so much of a different life. I can’t fathom it. I remember 10 years ago when we got 30 guys together for 3 bachelor parties in Vegas. I actually provided the entertainment at the MGM suite. Ahhhhh backpage.com those were the days!!!

Us IU fans should get together while in Vegas. This will be the furthest I’ve gone to watch them

let’s go Hoosiers

I’m going with my sister and nephews. Hoping to be there evening of the 8th. Not sure where we are staying yet. She’s a pacers exec so she’s waiting on deals for us poor folk. 🤣
