Langdon Hatton

He’s a try hard.. and awful. If I have to listen to one more person say he should play more it might put me over the edge.
Classic Woodson subbing. Finally gaining control with a lineup. Sub 4 of them out, right before a TV timeout, give up a quick 5-0 run to give Rutgers life. He’s so f-ing awful.

Call a damn timeout if you think they’re tired.

He was ranked a top 15 portal transfer and got paid big bucks. Problem was he played alon a bad Stanford team also his numbers were deceiving
This!! And guys like Chaser etc said he'd easily score 13+ppg.. I was hopin he'd be as good as Robert Johnson but Johnson better by a safe margin. You are 100% right. Played on a shittt Stanford team. LOL at IU's luck to have Dylan Harper out.

I think that he is a fan favorite because he gives 110% every time out & in certain match-ups is quite effective doing the dirty work underneath. The guy who has stuck it out for years & is playing his ass off is Anthony Leal. Hat's off to that guy; his 6-7 years of college basketball experience really shows up.. He should be getting steady minutes the rest of the B10 season.

I agree, until Kanaan proves he's got something to offer that looks like smart offense I want Leal playing for him. KC is fairly strong on D and on the boards but so is AL. + he doesn't waste shots. He has major BB IQ and is aggressive looking for assists.

Might be the greatest kid on Earth, I don’t know him. But unless we’re playing Winthrop we are better off when he’s in a seated position.
wasn't brought here to play 20 minutes a game. he's the 3rd big man on the team. has had several DNPs. Ballo at the bar and Reneau going out last night forced him to get some minutes. You think some All American is going to take that role? if you want to start bitching about and listing thinks wrong with this program, it should take a long time to get to Langdon Hatton

He played 6 minutes, missed 2 shots, committed 2 fouls, and had 2 TOs. Can't play him in the Big Ten. I stand by what I said.

Also, when he was in the game, Rutgers fed the post and it was an automatic 2 points virtually everytime down the floor.

Probably gonna have to, against some teams, if Malik is out. But we certainly don't need to feed him the ball in the post. And we can certainly help him defensively more than we did last night.

he played bad last night, 1st guy ever to have a bad game, would you like to beat his ass, take his NIL away? If he is being counted on to play major minutes, that's not good Mr. Obvious. no need to take shots at him.

Quinn said Mike woodson is the best human being he knows. But does that suddenly make him a good coach,?

At one point he was ranked the #4 transfer portal players. Woodson paid him big bucks based on that. Again scoring 11 a game on a bad team is deceiving.
Eligibility: Three seasons remaining

Kanaan Carlyle didn't get to start his season until December. But when he got his chance, he wasted no time in making an impact.

He's a former four-star recruit that has long been one of the best athletes and better scorers in his recruiting class. He's a tough and aggressive guard who is at his best in the open floor. As his decision-making and shot-making can continue to improve, having three seasons still to play will certainly play into his favor.

For any team in need of a dynamic guard that can score, Carlyle will be in high demand.

Its obvious he needs to try to get downhill more, and use his quickness and athleticism to get to, and make plays in, the paint...more. Painfully obvious.

Struggling shooting?...go get fouled and get some free throws. Go get a layup. Go get yourself immersed in to the game by creating for others. DON'T...take 19 foot jumpers off the dribble. Don't take 3 point shots off the dribble, or off zero or just 1 pass.

Either Woodson isn't seeing, asking, telling, demanding Carlyle to do those things he should be doing to get rolling...or he isn't effective at making him do it. Doesn't matter. He isn't doing it.

No way of knowing this, but I strongly suspect Carlyle would be having a similar, if not better year, than he had at Stanford, if he were playing in a different program. And I suspect he will be next year. Its why it was suprising, to me, that we got he and Rice in the first place.

could say the same thing about Tucker, he plays as if he doesn't score in 30 seconds he's coming out

For certain. Both of them are too athletic to be solely relying on outside jumpers, ISO fadeaways, etc... And our coaching staff isn't helping them out by allowing them to solely play that way. Its amazing how shots start falling when you find ways to get to the rim, and be productive in other ways. You can even see that with Mack. He's had numerous games in his career where he's played his way back in to a rhythm by going to get an offensive rebound, attacking the rim, cutting off the ball, getting fouled, etc...

Tucker and Carlyle are too athletic, and I suspect a lot more skilled than we're seeing, to be allowed to settle for the shots they're settling for right now. Its yet another NBA like approach that poisons Woodson's approach with younger, developing kids.

At no point did he sub 4 people at a time. When you make shit up..all you are doing is telling everyone that you know your argument isn't as good as it's presentation. Do better

Yeah...because Rice settles all the time...right? Or did Woody give him the green light..but tell everyone else to not drive the basketball?..hmmm..kinda like you all said about Woody being against taking 3's....weird

There were multiple moments last night when we had 0 or 1 starter in the game. The most frustrating was when we were putting the game away, had pushed the lead up to 18, approaching the TV timeout (I believe unde 12 timeout). With a series of quick subs, he subbed out all 5 of the main rotation guys that were building the lead. He subbed Rice back in, then subbed Ballo back in. Then when the lead was cut to 8, he put Gallo and Mack and Goode back in.

I deal in facts, exclusively, and don't make "shit up". I also don't blindly support a coach that's quite obviously in over his head.

You made shit up when you insinuated that he subbed 4 guys at one time in an effort to make your story sound better. Not facts

So he didn't sub 4 of them out after going up by 18? Did I say it was all in ONE sub? Its not a story. Its what happened. And its been pointed out, discussed, ad nauseum on this board. There are metrics that show it, but that shouldn't be needed...we were starting to control them...he subbed out the guys that were controlling them. I don't have an exact number, but I'd say he's done it now dozens of times since arriving at IU, and way more often than not, it hurts the team. And in a college environment, it isn't ever necessary...unless you're trying to prove a point and fire up your starters.

Didn't realize you were so close with him... didn't mean to post my thoughts about a player on a fan forum during the game last night... yikes

We blew a 17/18 point lead when Woodson had 4 subs on the floor. They didn’t come in the same exact second but within a short time of each other. Anyone with a brain knew what was likely to happen. Our idiot coach sat and watched the lead evaporate. I mumbled to my wife what was going to happen. A few minutes later I was right.

Let's not give up on this kid. That's dumb. He's a young player still finding his way. He's got lots of skills and obviously, still learning to play with Rice, Gallow and his other teammates. He plays his ass off, which is a good start. IMHO he'll still be a positive factor as this season goes along.

That’s what happens when your recruiting program isn’t based on competent exhaustive scouting and a winning vision of team construction but is just based on some ranking that provides good PR and signed checks from the enablers. It is sad to me that Woodson actually thought (I guess he did) that this minimal effort maximum PR approach could possibly be successful.

The old saying is money talks and bullshit walks but thus far Woodson has been able to bullshit the money. I doubt he will be able to bullshit more because now they just look like fools that were taken for a ride.

Its funny how you people say "we"....and then talk shit about the team incessantly...lol. There is no "we"....you don't play, coach, or even cheerlead(although I suspect that is the role that would fit most of you best, logistically). "Everyone knew"....lol...such a cop out. You are bitching because a lead dwindled while subs were on the floor. Subs have to play. I saw Knight play an entire 5 of backups, because he didn't like how the starters played, and IU lost. Here, IU didn't lose, and yet you still complain...but probably didn't think twice when it happened then. You are all nothing but a joke. Especially, when it's easy for anyone with a brain to see, that the only dwindled because 1 guy was making some stupid difficult shots, rather than anything IU was doing that was detrimental. It's likely that lead would have dwindled, regardless of who was on the floor because of the amount of ridiculously difficult shots Bailey was making. And you "watched the game"?....pshhh...do better.

Please don’t make analogies between RMK’s coaching decisions and Woodson’s. Woodson has done nothing to deserve comparison.
