Bailey is 6’10” and shot 41% from 3? Damn. Even if that’s only 2-3 attempts/game, still, damn. Although I do remember Archie bringing in some guy (can’t recall the name) from somewhere in Illinois who was 6’10”-6’11” and was supposed to be a good 3pt shooter. Don’t recall him doing shit after he got here.
Thought I read he only had 41 3 pt attempts last year. Sounds like a good addition though. I thought Danny Wulf at UM was such a key add, so hopefully this guys impact will be similar.

dbm---Is Trilly your source on this? Are you hearing that he has signed on the dotted line?

On BTBs, raby was quoted as saying he wants to visit first and then 'might' commit.
Did Reed Bailey visit IU before committing? Honest question.

I wondered the same thing, but I didn't think so. Great handle for a big. Could add a lot to our offense next year.
Was mainly just looking to see if there was an established trend that CDD meets with them in person, on campus, whatever, before any commitments happen.

Haven't followed the Bailey recruitment all that closely, if he committed without any of that... doesn't mean anything particularly, just interesting info I guess.

I will say, I'm excited about the Bailey pickup. There are lots of ways to be successful, and many of them include having a skilled big like him. As long as he isn't a defensive liability, he'll be an impactful player for us, I'm sure. I'm not sure what kind of program McKillop's son is running. I know his dad was a pretty decent overall coach, so hopefully Bailey has received some good fundamental guidance thus far.

I don't think this cat has much "If you're gonna play for Darian DeVries, you need to come see Darian DeVries" going on. I'd be curious to see how much flight time he's gotten since the announcement.

One of the posts I saw on X said he would be announcing after the tournament. If true, then probably tomorrow?

I'm hoping this coach's defensive schemes are built on team concepts of positioning, communication, connectivity, synergy... and not individual defense ability. If you get what I mean. Basically Bo Ryan vs Tom Crean/Woody who both valued individual defenders (athletes). I also hope that its philosophy is more to contain, instead of constant pressure to create TO or steals.. that's a fool's game.
