Kudos to the crowd

People stayed because it was fun.

Competitive game that wasn't determined til the end.

Decent opponent.

Mid 60's temps that were kinda pleasant with the mister on. 😄

And we won.

That's what games should be like...not 79-2 blowouts designed to get you to the Detroit Bowl if you're lucky.
It was basically over with 8 mins to go, but okay, go ahead and keep complaining about the schedule.

Might as well root for us to lose.

I’ll tell you, today was the day the casual fans believed. They had the turnovers. They couldn’t get ahead 2 possessions. They made a few bad penalties on 3rd down. Everyone was expecting old IU. When we went up 2 scores, it was like everyone believed finally. Buck said the same thing on the radio. Everyone was just waiting for the Lucy and the football moment.
I didn’t feel that at all. We made mistakes but were always in control. Crowd was okay but expect much better for Nebraska. Students showed up late but stayed until the end. Weather wasn’t bad at all for the fans. Rained harder very late but way better than expected.

Only seats available for the game are Endzone. You will not be getting tickets directly through a university site that view the field from the sides.

The lines to get in through the south end zone were horrible. Snaking along forever. Took a lot of people that stayed there till midway through the 1st quarter to get inside. That was a major reason it filled up nicely by the end of the 1st quarter. That said, how do these people not realize that you can always practically walk right in at the furthest north gates on the west side? I've never waited more than a few minutes to get in over there.

The crowd was great, but I did get asked to sit down at one point in the 1st half. We were in section 9, row 11, on the 25 yard line. I looked at the guy and smiled. He said, you 2 are the only people standing in the entire stadium. I laughed and pointed to the students who didn't sit down the entire game. Well done students, and sorry old guys that wanna sit down, but this is how real college stadiums are supposed to act. I thought the atmosphere was one of the best I've ever seen in MS.

I dunno. I'm all for standing if everyone around you is standing. If you're the only people standing and you're standing 100% of the time, I think you need to 'read the room'.

Memorial Stadium isn't Assembly Hall. No big time college football stadium has people sitting all game. Show me the SEC crowd that sits all game? In the 1st half when he said that, there were people all around us standing, but a lot of people were sitting too. In the 2nd half virtually nobody around us sat. The sit down crowd will learn to stand eventually because Coach Cig is going to keep winning. The more we win, the better the gameday atmosphere, and the more involved the crowd becomes. I don't fault the old guy for asking, but this ain't the same Hoosiers that he's been sitting to watch lose every week for the last 50 years.

Anyone that wants to go to Nebraska but doesn’t have tickets, I’d get them now. Nebraska always travels insanely well. A PU fan said they thought about 30% of the crowd was NE. I’d love for there not to be many tickets available for them.

Whether you're an IU or Nebraska fan the issue is parking. It's sold out for the rest of the season. So you'll need to find it on secondary market or park somewhere outside of the Memorial Stadium footprint.

Ok, but that's not really what you described in your original post.

I’m an old guy on the east side and was great in the 2nd half when pretty much everyone was standing up during the late 3rd and all of the 4th.
