Yep. Adrenaline kept them in early. Tired legs since. You can just tell. Everyone is a step slow, especially defending.
And a roster that’s not very good. Let’s face it, most of IU’s players would be marginal contributors in the MAC.
They are kids. Several first four teams have made the final four before. Get back to me if notre dame lays an egg tomorrow they had less rest than us

Several? That’s not factual. 2. Sure. The first 4 game wasn’t the problem. They laid it all on the line in that BTT. Add the travel fiasco and here we are.

I mean everyone will judge it how they want. All I know is being down 33 and not say 12 is one heck of a travel excuse
So the narrative will be we were tired and that why we got blown out of building? Just asking because that seems to be the plan. Nothing at all to do with anything else simply tired period

St. Mary's- 1 game in 9 days.

I know it doesn’t fit your narrative that Woodson can’t coach and we will perpetually suck, but this team brought a halt to some bad streaks this year. Woodson broke the losing streak to PU and Michigan and got us into the tournament this year.
At least we weren’t a 2seed losing to a 15 seed.
We lost to Purdue by 2 on the road, but lost to st mary's by 30 at a neutral site. How would you explain it?

No. Our roster is not great. Outside of X we have no guard who can create their own shot. Bates maybe but he’s a freshman and a liability on defense and in the offensive flow. No shooters for kickouts. Sure we thought PS was the guy but clearly showed why he only could light it up at UT Martin. Kopp was a complete waste. Good guy but thank god he’s got a degree from NW.
It’s going to take time. I’m happy that outside of tonight the defense has been really good this season. That’s a base to build from. A culture. Now get out there and recruit.

We got our asses kicked by a better team. Playing out 5th game in 8th days also didn’t help matters. Both can and in this case are true. There’s no narrative. Almost a relief the season is over so we don’t have to hear your miserable ass complain. You were awfully quiet last week donkey.

The people claiming the schedule difference & fatigue made no difference have NEVER played organized ball in their lives, or at least not since grade school.
Exactly. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Both are true. They were certainly the better team today by far and a better team than many of our fans were giving them credit for before the game. If you read the pre games posts you would have thought they were the worst 5 seed to ever be in the tournament.
They were well rested and well prepared. Their coach even said they 100% prepped for IU from the start.
We were outplayed by a better team but also clearly ran out of gas. Woodson and this team will never make excuses but playing 5 games in 8 days with their backs against the wall for all of them takes a mental and physical toll. Plus add in arriving in Portland at 7 AM the day before a game and getting to go to bed finally at that hour doesn’t help.
Note Dame gets their go tomorrow so we will see how they handle no rest. Nobody said it did not play a roll but this was beyond that. We lost be over 30 points and got carved up. We are still mentally weak and caved pretty easy. I get excuses are an easy scapegoat but if rested a week I bet we still lose this game. We can't shoot
By your theory St. Mary's should easily beat UCLA who played three
or four games last weekend. Correct?
I agree we lose still, but they aren't 30 points better without the fatigue playing a major part.
On the other IU sites they linked comments from the St Mary's coach. He complimented his own team, but said we were absolutely tired along with inadequate time to prepare.
Again, we are not very good but we were definitely fatigued tonight.
You’re an idiot! Even 20 year olds get tired after so many games in short time. It would be different if they were use to playing that many games in a short span. They also had to fly out to the west coast.
