Julian Lewis will be at Michigan Game

Does this help?

Yeah, I've read that stuff. It's exciting. But Roark has taught me we don't necessarily need 5 star dudes to kill it with CCC's system. That and I'm pretty partial to the 2 CG QBs we have. Cherry is the real deal. When it's his turn, we're going to be more than Ok.

I’m puzzled by this one. On one hand, I have a ton of confidence in Cigs and his staff to evaluate talent. On the other, it seems like Cigs has won with veteran quarterbacks, not freshmen. I also wonder what this would do to the other QBs at IU - Jackson, Cherry, Mendoza. Crazy and exciting times to be an IU fan. Beat Michigan!

The NIL will be there regardless of his PT early on. If you remove that, the only things left are: personal relationships, can this team win, and can this coaching staff develop me to play in the NFL? I think IU and this staff checks all of those boxes.

Back in the day, there was no NIL so playing day 1 was always a bigger factor. A good QB shouldn't want to be thrown to the wolves, they should want to be trained to succeed and once that has happened, the staff puts him in the best position to show it on the field.

No need to be puzzled. Cig has explained that to field a competitive roster he had to build from the portal and will have to again after this year, but they also need young talent to develop. Unless Julian enrolls in the spring I highly doubt he will be ready to lead this offense next season. We are probably looking at Tayven or one of the other 2 getting the start next year and then I can seen Ju Ju taking over as a rs fr.

People put too much on expecting a true freshman to start right away. What you put on tape matters. Look at Dylan Raiola at Neb. Many fans are already seeking his benching and Matt Rhule is getting criticized every week because of the lack of wins. Young guys need time in a system and it can get ugly if you put them out there before they are ready. Even the great ARE redshirted his true freshman year.

I trust in Cig whether we get Lewis or not, but the best thing he gives us is helping attract other high level recruits. Also, don’t misinterpret that just because Cig says he doesn’t look at stars that it means he excludes them. It only means he values his assessment of talent more than that of recruiting services. He will recruit the best “talent” he can and if they happen to also be rated high by recruiting services that doesn’t exclude them.

If JU Ju ends up at Colorado and starts day 1 I expect them to have the same type of season Nebraska is having this year and the impatient Buff fans and writers will question Deion and his offensive staff all season. I think he will end up at CU or IU, but I don’t get hung up on hs recruiting anymore because so many transfer before they ever see the field.

This is an observation that the NFL seems to not be able to make...the transition from HS to college is big...the transition from college to the NFL is ... IMO ... bigger.

There was NIL back then. It was just under the table!

Jim Coyle said on his radio show this morning that Lewis is not going to be here Saturday. Not sure where this originated from that he was coming.

Not to talk bad about Jim, but his predictions haven't been the best when it comes to predictions and IU sports.

He may not come, but the staff is under the impression he is.

This is interesting to hear because Steve Wiltfong reported it and it has been reposted several times today by other sports writers and analysts. This is the first I have heard anyone say it’s not true, but I am not worried about it either way. IU football is in good hands. 🙂

If Coyle said it I would believe the opposite. Ever listen to his show?...Constant fumbling while trying to remember what he was talking about...especially if it's a name. He does have good info sometimes, if you can deal with hearing "uuhh....uhhhhh"..."uhh"...."So...there's that" about 8 times an hour. I bet that man says the word "uh" 200 times an hour. I'm embarrassed for him sometimes.

Every time I watch him the number of commercials and advertisements increase. Roughly 2/3 of his you tube screen is covered with ads: last time I counted there were 12 banners.

I can get better commentary on you tube sites with WAY FEWER adds.
