Not always about the rankings. Coaches must see something in the way he plays that makes them think it will fit their scheme. Most didn't see David Ellis being a major star but our coaching staff did...
Alabama offered. So did other football powers. They must see something in him as well.

A 3 star with offers from Alabama, Florida St, Louisville and a bunch of others. This doesn't really seem like a reach.
4star rated at ESPN quite a commit for the Hoosiers

I think you see Alabama offered and drop the mic, end the conversation. How can that be anything but a fine pick up. I give a GA 3-star grade inflation to a Midwestern 4-star.
I am thinking he was adding some sarcasm to his post. Any time in FB you get a top 1000 guy with multiple P5 offers, that's a good get.
Must have liked our strength coach better.
And you can be sure if he committed to Alabama or Florida State, the rating services would have immediately raise him to a 4 Star.

Another great recruit for IUFB as he runs good routes, avoids jams with good footwork, and goes up strong for contested passes. I hope he comes in and gives B1G teams fits trying to cover him, after all Alabama was after him.
If coach Allen wants him, so do I!
