I will agree that Georgia is pretty good , but probably not the best. You can also throw in Pennsylvania, Ohio and California.
2024 NFL roster players by state they went to HS in (vs other lists that pop up which are which state they went to college in if you dig deeper):
- TX 304
- FL 287
- CA 278
- GA 221

I’m not sure that this actually proves or disproves anybody’s point as states vary in average size of their HS quite a bit, so in theory you could argue GA has fewer HS so the talent is concentrated onto fewer teams, resulting in a higher level of play (this happens in volleyball). This could actually be looked at if one was really invested.

GA does claim to have the most nfl players per capita (or at least Georgia High School Football Daily says so - no way that outfit is biased!)

Also, if your still reading, there are other lists with different numbers but the rank order if the top 4 is still the same.

I'm just glad we're recruiting the Gary/Chicago area as well as Indianapolis. Good players are where you find them and IU is a great place just far enough from home but still easy for friends and family to come enjoy the atmosphere and see them play. Should have a high rate of success in those areas. Cig's 4 hour idea makes sense to me. I'm happy when anybody from Georgia, Texas, Florida or elsewhere see the light and choose Indiana of course.

And back on topic, if I hear 'Georgia' I think great football recruiting.
