Jan 20 2025 price of gas

I completely agree, but I have been told the last 5 years gas prices are 100% on Biden.

I certainly wouldn't say that. Pretty sure I never have, either.

I have said that Dem presidents tend to do things that stand in the way of expanding domestic oil/gas production (or things supportive of it, such as the Keystone XL pipeline extension) -- and, IMO, without much of a good reason other than a general aversion to the use of fossil fuels.

The crazy part about that pipeline project is that canceling it wasn't going to keep the Alberta syncrude in the ground. It just meant it was going to have to be transported to market by means that were less efficient, more costly, and requiring more use of energy.

We should absolutely continue to develop new sources of energy. I just saw the other day that AEP is setting aside some funds for a prospective nuclear power plant to replace their existing coal-fired plant in Rockport, IN -- just down the street from me. That's great news. And I'm all in favor of increasing solar production, too.

Yeah, and how many greenies are against nuclear because NUCLEAR!

Please someone set a reminder and bump this thread in 4 years. I want to show that prices to decrease on a Bitcoin Standard. I predict gas will be .5 satoshi or less then.

For fun though, we can do a real comparison and compare it to a share of QQQ... which is $524 today.

Do you notice that a 75 cent egg is a disaster, but 10 cents worth of coffee with a penny's worth of sugar, in a paper cup sold for $6 isn't anything to get worked up about?

That isn't what we have been told the last 4 years. I needed to gas up yesterday but held off so tomorrow I can get that ultra cheap stuff

But that’s what you’ve been telling us…

You do realize that under Biden we were not only the largest oil producer in the world, but production reached the highest in U.S. history? We’ve already been drilling baby drilling.
I've told my friends who only watch Fox News the same about oil production. They literally had no idea the levels we are currently producing. Fox conveniently leaves that out of their reporting. These guys also don't understand global supply and demand.

How many Refineries have been built in the last 30years versus how many have been closed!

My response is compared to what ? Here's what... US has been the largest producer of oil years before Biden. We had pretty much become self sufficient with only 11% imported. Oil production pace was on a climb until Biden. Then it took 4 years to pass what previously had been a record in million metric tons. 4 YEARS is a long time in the oil industry. And a significant amount of that oil is exported due to environmental, political and economic problems. Our infrastructure is very poor (pipelines), foreign oil can be cheaper too. Now our imports have increased. Advances in technology specifically fracking and horizontal drilling have helped overcome democrats opposition.

I also had the opportunity in Houston to play golf with two oil men who described how expensive it is to obtain new leases ,the red tape involved in getting leases, how the green energy people have influenced some of the investment companies that help fund oil drilling, and the layoffs that occurred. Very interesting insights from these guys. You might want to start by stop watching left wing shows.

Shocking.
