IUWBB over UWash

I suspect she was told we were going portal over her. Physically she is a 4 more than a five.
If her listed size of 6’3” is accurate she is a little short for a true 5. I like Lilly but It does not look like she has much vertical or quickness under the basket. I thought she was beginning to score with either hand.

I’m confused about Yardon. Good length at 6’3” and a very good shooter.
But she is very slow and not much vertical.
Is she too slow to be a guard and not enough vertical to play in the paint? I’m not sure where she should play. It seems we need more shots per game from her.

Now Jelks and Sandvik. The first does not surprise me, the second does a little. Wow, we wouldn't have had more leave if we hired a new coach.

Wow. I am glad Jelks is leaving, she is not good enough for this level. I really like Henna. Does this mean something is going on in the locker room? The culture?
5 guys leaving and 4 would have had opportunities to start or at least play big minutes off the bench.
Is the ladies NIL bad? Surely not with the success we have had.
Anybody know anything?

I really think it goes back to what Moren said after SC, we need to get bigger and more athletic. I think she was honest with the kids and they all knew we were looking for players to come in ahead of them.

In a way I am surprised, since those kids arrived we have heard over and over how tight this team was. That evaporated quickly. But many of these kids had put 3 years in and probably were not happy to be told the payoff wasn't what they thought for year 4. I think playing UCLA and USC showed we weren't ready for the new B10. Clark's forte was not size or athleticism.

I doubt the IU women's players get more than pizza money from NIL. Until 4-5 years ago, you could not give IU women's tickets away and their surge i popularity is very recent and none of the big money boosters care about WBball. In the Big Ten I suspect only the LA school and UMich and OSU have much of a NIL warchest.

Trust Moren.
I agree and I do. My concern right now is that she's had a successful culture and that culture has had meaningful players pass that culture down to the next group of players. It seems we're going to lose that in this transition. It might mean a step backwards for at least a year. Maybe a program reset built less on culture and more on athleticism, but I'm not sure if Teri can coach that way. But I hope she can and will support the team regardless.

I think coach has been great for the last decade.
But she's seen these teams that our real contenders for a title..
And Indiana is stuck in gear...Meaning Good enough..Is not good enough !
Only problem is..I'm not sure Bloomington is that.. I must go there destination....
Still lots lots of positivity going forward with this program..👍

Just add another Mckenzie Holmes sprinkle in a Ali Patburg and a Grace Berger and all is well .

Interesting theory. If correct it might imply we are going to loosen the character quality in exchange for ability.

I hope you are wrong. Surely there are very successful and influencing lady alums out there. Not to mention the wives and female children of successful men.
Is NiL money public information?

Maybe the questions we have asked in the last few posts will become clear with transfers in. If several “star” players transfer in - like Kiki Iriafen did at USC - maybe Moren did tell the players they would not start. But if that were the case, how does she know in advance she can get stars to join us.?
