It went as expected and was nothing to write home about. Ciezki was 7-11 on FGs and 4-7 on 3s to lead with 20 pts. Striplin was 7 of 9 for 16 points and Parrish was the only other player in double figures with 11 points.

The women appear to have their act together following the back-to-back losses to Harvard and Butler. Maybe they ‘outsmarted’ us?.😜

The B10 added two championship caliber teams with USC and UCLA. Maryland is also back in the top 10. I think a decent run is the best we can expect
Yea, that’s what a think. You think top 5 or 6 good as we could hope for?

I think that’s about right. Michigan, OSU, Illinois and Nebraska have all been in the top 20 and MSU got off to a great start, too

I agree with somewhat reduced success this year. Grace Berger and her deadly mid range game graduated two years ago. Last year the programs all time leading scorer, Mackenzie Holmes as well as Sara Scalia a tremendous three point shooter graduated.
We have solid players who will improve with continued coaching and their own individual effort to improve. Strip and Lilly share minutes and are solid bigs. Shay, Syd, and Yarden are good three point shooters.
But we do not have that national player of the year type candidate. A Bueckers, Ju Ju, Kiki, Hidalgo, etc.
The ladies are great to me. I never miss a broadcast.

Really, Syd and Lex have missed several games and Beau is out all year????? That is 3 pretty big rotation pieces that have missed a lot of time
Lex seems.to be rounding into form. She returned for the Battle for Atlantis and has been gradually shaking off the rust since then. She's moving really well now and we noticed, for the first time in her career, she's not wearing a knee brace.

Syd looked decent today for having been out for nearly four weeks.

Agree Lex looks healed. Fast (I believe state of Michigans high school 200 and 400 meter champ as a senior, and has the teams best vertical. Ali Patberg has been working with her on shooting, still a work in progress.
Syd hit threes, a welcome site.

Valentyne kadlecova is a 6' freshman guard from the Czech republic. She averaged 12 points playing for various Czech under 20 national teams. Today she played 9 minutes and scored 9 points. She appears very skilled and has a high basketball IQ. I predict she will eventually play 20 minutes or more in conference games. Watch her!

I agree. I have tried to find Europe info on her with some success, tho not as much as I would like. She started on the U20 team when she was 17.
I had a prediction that Beau would make a huge jump this year. If we are correct, next year may have three starting guards with Lex (fast, defense, senior leadership), Beau (scorer), and Kadlecova (scorer).

Bubble team and that’s being optimistic. We might finish -.500 in the B1G.
That's reasonable. I am seeing improvement. Looks like Sandvik is settling in a bit finally. Striplin looking better every game. They are only going to be eight deep in B1G play. Freshmen aren't going to be contributing, maybe Valentyne a bit by seasons end. .500 in conference seems about right.

I agree we are not as strong now as we have been.
Now that Syd is back Henna may see fewer minutes, but could she emerged as a big three point threat?

You think the B1G's that good?
The ladies big ten is outstanding. Both UCLA and USC are even money for a national championship. Iowa looks top ten, their assistant coach of maybe 15 years is now the head coach. We should have 6 or 7 teams in the top 10-12 rankings.
South Carolina, UConn, and Notre Dame are the other national championship teams.

We caught one break. All of the current top 10 teams play in Bloomington - USC, UCLA, OSU and Maryland. We also get to play Purdue twice

You’ll see. We’re not very good this year
I would not say “we’re not very good this year”. We may not be as strong as the last two years, but how many games did those teams lose? It is a pretty high bar. Somewhat like Alabama saying they aren’t good because they are 9-3 instead of 12-0.
I think our team chemistry and our ability to play together as a team will place us higher than our “on paper” talent.

Fair statement
