IU started the game off red hot from the field with Garzon scoring their first seven points to include a 3-ball to take a quick 7-2 lead. Holmes was a perfect 4 for 4 in the period as IU built up a double-digit lead that reached 13 points. However, IU would cool while the Badgers' shooting picked up to include three 3-pointers as IU led 24-18 at the end of the 1st. Holmes had 10 points in the 1st. In the 2nd period, Wisconsin would close to within four points twice early in the period. IU would slowly start building up the lead again and had it at 33-24 at a 4:43 timeout. Garzon had picked up two fouls at this point while the Badgers had a couple of starters with two fouls apiece. Parrish quickly picked up her second foul coming out of the timeout as IU would build their lead up to 38-24 on a 3 by Garzon. Berger would then hit a bucket to put the lead up to 16 points at 40-24. IU would outscore the Badgers 23-8 in the period and take a 47-26 lead at the half as Holmes had 21 points at the half, while Garzon and Berger had 10 and 9 points, respectively. IU had just four turnovers at the half while the Badgers committed 12 turnovers. Both teams had two starters with two fouls with Garzon and Parrish being the IU players. In the 3rd, the Badgers would start the period on a 6-2 run as IU would pick up two quick turnovers. At a TV timeout at the 4:59 mark of the 3rd, IU had built a lead of 62-38 and Garzon had knocked down two more 3s and was 4 for 4 from there up to this point in the game. IU would lead 78-47 at the end of the period. IU started the 4th with Holmes on the bench and she would not play in the period and Garzon was pulled at the 6:30 mark. Holmes had a game high 29 points in just 3 periods of play, while Garzon had 19 points in a little over 3 periods of play. Berger and Parrish would also finish in double figures with the end of the bench playing out the last half of the period.
