IU-Wisconsin prediction.

70-54 Wisky. I’m confident in Woodson’s ability to make huge improvements to our team and culture (have already seen glimpses of it), but we just aren’t there yet to consistently run with the big boys and get these monkeys off our backs that we’ve accumulated for the past 20 years.

Geez..
I'm not a over the top.. We win prediction everytime..
But that's a bad loss if it's that..
This isnt Frank The Tank and Decker Badger team..
Davis can ball..
We're better than that...imo..

I think we'll lose, because we should win and I actually think we should. Tough call, wouldn't bet on this. We could win, or extremely tight and lose, or a blowout. Too many variables, but maybe it shows us something

How confident are you? Are you saying that there's a chance?

We should've beaten Syracuse too but those of us who really know college basketball knew that we'd probably lose. We have almost no chance tomorrow imo. Hope I'm wrong but I expect Gard to put on a clinic.

It’s deer-in-the-headlights for the boys playing on the road at Kohl Center.
Wisky 81
IU 65

That might even be generous. Not enough depth or valuing each possession at this stage.

Lol, no one is coming to you for anything college basketball related FYI.

Mostly agree with this but I think we win by double digits. Wisconsin is simply not good this year. IU wins, pulling away late, 78-62
Yeah, we've heard that before. Two years ago, coming off losses to SMC, RICH, UNM and NCST, and we had just come off browbeating a really good FLST team.

And WISC cleaned our clocks. And for good measure, they beat us in Bloomington too after we gagged on a nine-point second-half lead (which spawned the whole "Sesame Street" thing).

If that team two years ago who was much worse coming in could clean our clocks, this team who's a lot better (and oh, who beat HOU--very much a title contender--on a neutral floor) coming in could make it hurt even more.

WISC 72, IND 47. We turn the ball over 21 times and hit less than 65% at the line (if we even get that many FT attempts).

Hate to be optimistic but tonight I think those still skeptical of CMW become believers. He had me at “bench the starters” last Saturday. Did we beat the Cornholers as bad as UM? No. But what was the score for the last 30 minutes?

You mean 40?

This will be our first (true) road game since pre Covid. The Syracuse game had an environment much closer to a neutral site (IMHO). It is more than just the crowd noise, it’s the officiating.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see us in early foul trouble especially at the guard position. The good news is I expect TJD to be treated as an AA from the officials this year, so I don’t envision him being in foul trouble.

my prediction:

63-55 Badgers. Incidentally I predicted 63-55 Hoosiers versus neb.

a couple of other thoughts:

it’s true that defense travels, but should also mention that IU is a much more dangerous 3 pt shooting team than the last several years. Perhaps that gets neutralized by a well coached, smart team like the Badgers (especially with our TO issues). However, it’s certainly possible IU comes out on fire and jumps to a double digit lead. That would be enough as I don’t expect this to be a high scoring game. I’m not banking on that, though.

this will be a tough game for IU. Hope I’m wrong, but see the Badgers pulling it out (IU ends up with the better conference record though).

Not happening. This is a different program. Enjoy the ride.

Hey guys, I saw this quote online:

“I see a well put together basketball team,” Indiana coach Mike Woodson said on his radio show Monday night. “I mean, they are well coached, they play well on the offensive end and they’ve got a good defensive system. Sometimes they will mix some zone, but very rarely will they play zone. They’ll get behind, and they will press some fullcourt.

Mind blown. That's a horrifically bad scouting report. UW may have played one possession of zone in the last 25 years, so, I guess he's technically correct that it is very rare. Also, I have seen UW press full court maybe 4-5 times in the same time period, only in desperation mode at the end of a game. As a badger fan, I hope IU has its scout team zoning and pressing...

Wisconsin 77 - IU 64

I tend to be negative on these predictions because if we lose, I told you so. I was right and it was expected. Now, if we win, I don't mind being wrong. Wrong makes me happy, even though I'm not right.

Indiana hasn't won against Wisconsin in Madison since 1998. That means no current player on Indiana's roster was alive for that moment.

Since then, the Hoosiers have lost 19 in a row on the road to Wisconsin.

I do not care what anyone says if we win it is a massive upset and I mean massive. 23 years is a very long time.
