Would have been great to see. I like where your head's at.Well throw that theory out the door then.
Vaya con dios, defcon Fran. If nothing else, you were entertaining.Iowa job about to open. Reports from today say Fran is out.
perfect ending for Fran, as it should be.Now THAT is an exit.
Absolutely.perfect ending for Fran, as it should be.
If I'm a betting man, I'd put money on McCollum to Iowa.Iowa job about to open. Reports from today say Fran is out.
IU fans on this board have complained about McCollums deliberate style of O. Can you imagine Iowa fans going from Fran who had a run and gun O to a slowed down O by McCollum? If I'm a betting man, I'd put money on McCollum to Iowa.
Closer to his child hood home. He's been in that general area his entire life.
But having said all this... McCollum's entire decision will likely come down to how he feels the AD and the school feels about his overall approach. If Iowa is more convincing to him that they want to be a part of that, and will embrace it...than IU would be, they'll get him. Same could be said about Minnesota, IU...pick your power 4 school that might be considering him...and him them.
because IU fans don't understand the game. McCollum runs a very high efficiency offense. Style doesn't win games. Winning trumps all. If they score 40 points a game and win 30 games and go deep in NCAA every year, who cares?IU fans on this board have complained about McCollums deliberate style of O. Pretty strong out of the box here bro. That’s a pretty hard take ‘round these parts.because IU fans don't understand the game.
Makes sense, but he might just want to get the hell out of Iowa! He’s from Iowa City and now coaching in Des Moines. It’s time to grow up and leave home?If I'm a betting man, I'd put money on McCollum to Iowa.

Yeah the fun "modern" offense didn't work so well in Iowa. Maybe we should hire Fran.If McCollum lands in Iowa, it will be interesting to see Iowa fans' reaction to the change in offensive philosophy. Whiplash.
Truth hurts. Now hopefully the closed the deal with Ben McCollum and don't lose him to Iowa and lose to his team for the next quarter century.Pretty strong out of the box here bro. That’s a pretty hard take ‘round these parts.
When you win, no one cares about your style. BM will win big wherever he coaches.Yeah the fun "modern" offense didn't work so well in Iowa. Maybe we should hire Fran.
Pace and tempo are severely overrated, neither playing fast or slow guarantees the offense is efficient. Offensive efficiency and proficiency equals putting the ball in the basket in more possessions than not .. it's not rocket surgery.because IU fans don't understand the game. McCollum runs a very high efficiency offense. Style doesn't win games. Winning trumps all. If they score 40 points a game and win 30 games and go deep in NCAA every year, who cares?
That's because Fran is a horrible defensive coach. Just like Beard lacks offensive chops. It takes both ..Yeah the fun "modern" offense didn't work so well in Iowa. Maybe we should hire Fran.
