Observations: 1. Way too much love for the old SEC Teams. 5 in the Top Ten. Come On.
2. Michigan with 2 losses one spot behind Us. What are They doing in the Top 25 at all with no QB, no passing game and sporadic running game. Their Defense may be excellent, but there isn't enough lipstick to put on the pig to keep it in the Top 25.
3. Oregon may be in the top 10 and undefeated, but I have a feeling that They will be getting a USC type lesson in playing Big Ten Road games at OSU next week.

That game is at Oregon.

OSU plays at Oregon and that should be a whale of a game. Right now, Draftkings has OSU as a 4.5 point favorite

One could also say that there is an assumption about OSU this year in the same way. They unquestionably have crazy talent and the history of success. But, until they have a game like Oregon, Penn State, Michigan (who they've lost quite a bit to lately, even when they've had more talent than them, just like they will this year), or (maybe, even) IU in that list of tests, we won't know anything truly about them. Now, OSU will probably pass all of those tests, but maybe they won't. I'm just saying there are just as many assumptions about our own "OG" Big 10 programs.

I’ll take that bet. One thing you can count on is Ryan Day getting out coached in s big game, especially on the road.
Day’s losses,

3 to Michigan

1 to Missouri

1 to Alabama NC game

1 to Clemson semi final

1 to Georgia semi final

1 to Oregon home game

In 7 seasons

2 of the 3 loses to Michigan were road games so he’s lost 2 road games in his career.

You’re right, this guy sucks. Dan Lanning has accomplished so much more.

Comparing the payrolls, yes.

Feels good to look at the list above us and say on about half of them 'yeah, we could beat them' . :)

Not that we would, just that we woudn't go in afraid and I'd be feeling alright.
What are you asking?

I think we should be favorites over half the teams ahead of us. I'd be thinking we would beat them.
Just that you seemed really cautious in believing IU was worthy of beating the others you mentioned.

I mean, only half? Not that we would? It’s okay to believe. It won’t be your fault if they lose a game you thought, or said, they would win.

It’s what Cig has said is so important for him to accomplish early on, changing expectations and the way people think regarding the program.

My thinking is always odds based. I said we would beat them, but of course that doesn't mean every time. And sure, all the others we could beat some of the time.

Jusy sayin', underrated.

I still get pretty nervous and have a feeling in the back of my head that the other shoe is about to drop. Too many years of that happening. It is much easier when I can attend the game and see how much better we are playing. Games on TV are much harder to read. I am really enjoying the ride however.
