Good to see the bottom of the order keep the pressure on.

3rd Inning:

T3rd:

It's the 6 thru 8 hitters up with Cerny leading off and IU goes down in order.

B3rd:

It's the 8, 9, and 1 hitters up for PSU. The leadoff hitter reached on a single. A pop up to Serruto resulted in the first out with a runner still at 1st and the top of the order up.

Manase then got a K for the 2nd out and the runner still at 1st and he then got a pop up to 1B to end the inning.

4th Inning:

T4th:

It's the 9, 1, and 2 hitters up for IU and Serruto singled to lead off.

Glasser grounded out with Serruto taking 2nd.

Whalen grounded out with the runner holding at 2nd.

Taylor K'd looking to retire the side.

B4th:

It was the 3-5 hitters up for PSU. The leadoff hitter grounded out and then Manase gave up a triple.

A standup double scored the runner from 3rd with one out.

Manase got an infield pop up for the 2nd out.

PSU brought in a pinch hitter and Mercer went to the bullpen in a surprise (to me) and brought in Ryan Kraft who got a GO to end the inning.

5th Inning:

T5th:

It's the 4-6 hitters up for IU and they go down in order to include two Ks.

B5th:

It's the 8, 9, and 1 hitters up. Kraft walked the leadoff hitter. Kraft then got a flyout for the first out and then got a DP ball to end the inning.

IU 4 PSU 1

6th Inning:

T6th:

With the bottom of the order up, Pyne singled to lead off, but Jessee then hit into a DP. Serruto then flied out to retire the side. This game is kind of looking like the game yesterday in that IU scored early in the game and didn't do much after that.

B6th:

It's the 2-4 hitters up for PSU and they go down in order to end the inning.

IU 4 PSU 1

7th Inning:

T7th:

It's the top of the order up for IU and Glasser and Whalen both flied out to lead off. Taylor then got a two-out single. Tibbitts flied out to retire the side and IU is 5 for 23 on the day at the plate.

B7th:

The 5-7 hitters are up for PSU. Kraft walked the leadoff hitter. Kraft then got a DP ball for two outs. IU has a rarity right now in turning two DPs so far today. IU is dead last in turning DPs in the B1G. Kraft then got a K to end the inning.

IU 4 PSU 1

8th Inning:

T8th:

It's the 5-7 hitters up for IU and they go down in order.

B8th:

It's the 8, 9, and 1 hitters up for PSU and Kraft gets the first two batters but then gives up a two-out double. It was the first hit given up by Kraft in 4 IP. A flyout ends the inning.

IU 4 PSU 1

9th Inning:

T9th:

It's the 8, 9, and 1 hitters up for IU and Mathison came in to pinch hit for Jessee and he grounded out to lead off. Serruto popped out for the 2nd out with the top of the order up. Glasser got a two-out walk to put a runner on. Whalen K'd to retire the side.

B9th:

It's the 3-5 hitters up for IU and Kraft was back out there to close it out. Kraft put them down in order, all on flyouts.

For the 2nd straight game, IU didn't hit the ball well although they cut down on their strikeouts from yesterday with 8 on the game. IU was a dismal 5 of 29 at the plate for .172 average as a team, but PSU was worse at 4 of 29 for a .138 average as a team. IU got excellent pitching in the game by Manase and Kraft.

IU had no multi-hit players today.

Tibbitts was 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
Glasser and Ellis accounted for the other 2 RBIs.

Neither team had an error and IU turned two DPs in the game which was a rarity for them.

IU got excellent pitching from Manase and Kraft.

Manase went 3.2 IP and gave up 3 hits, 1 run which was earned, 4 Ks, and 1 BB. He gave up a double and a triple.

Kraft went 5.1 IP giving up 1 hit and no runs, 1 K, and 2 BBs. He gave up a double.
