off of a lead-off double in which the runner eventually scored on fielder choices. It's 35 degrees there, so they are looking at similar temps to what they saw at PSU.

IU batting T4th still down 1-0. Iowa threatened in the 3rd when they...

had a man on 2nd with one out after a walk and a stolen base. IU has two hits, both singles, but that's it so far.

Iowa batting B4th still up 1-0. Dedelow tried to stretch a one-out double

into a triple and was thrown out at 3b.

Iowa batting B5th still up 1-0. IU had a man on 3rd with one out...

but a strikeout and a pop-up ended that threat.

Stretch time with Iowa still up 1-0. IU just can't seem to get anything..

going at the plate, and they are running out of time.

IU batting T8th down 1-0. They dodged a bullet in the 7th when Iowa..

had runners on the corners with one out, but a double play ball got them out of it.

Iowa batting B8th, up 1-0. IU had men on the corners with two outs...

but a pop-up ended the inning. They are down to their last three outs.

Iowa now up 2-0 on a single, walk, and an error at short which allowed..

an unearned run to score. Iowa still batting with one out and men on 2nd and 3rd.

Iowa's starting pitcher goes the distance, winning 2-0. Impotent bats cost

IU in this one as the pitching was good enough to win this game. We also had 3 errors in it. We had just two scoring threats in this game and couldn't get that clutch hit. IU is now 16-6 and 1-2 in the conf.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- No. 19 Indiana lost for just the second time in 15 games as the Hoosiers struggled to find a spark offensively in its series opener at Iowa, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Hawkeyes on Friday afternoon at Duane Banks Field.

Iowa's leadoff double in the first inning led to a 1-0 lead that the Hawkeyes maintained until adding another run in the eighth on IU's third error for what was ultimately the final score. Neither team had multiple baserunners on at once until the seventh inning.

The Hoosiers moved a runner to third base twice, but failed to score. Logan Sowers, who reached after being hit by Tyler Peyton's pitch, advanced to third with one out in the fifth inning but was stranded there.

Against two outs in the top of the eighth, Laren Eustace hit back-to-back singles to place runners on the corners for Indiana, but the Hoosiers left the top half of the inning scoreless.

Pitching was terrific for both teams. Despite the loss, Indiana's Caleb Baragar pitched a career-high seven innings, dealing five strikeouts while allowing just one run on four hits. Peyton pitched all nine innings for Iowa, giving the Hoosiers just five hits.
